The very hated Taylor Lautner
Taylor Lautner is adored by young girls and cougars all around the world. His main claim to fame has come from the Twilight saga. Now, he is a lead in an action film that is ready to hit theaters called Abduction in an attempt to market himself as an action hero. Yet many on here on MFC, and also through various anonymous internet portals seem to constantly bash Taylor Lautner. And frankly, I just don't get it. First off all, what the hell did this kid do to anyone? He always carries himself well, he never bad mouths anyone, he's not cocky, and he doesn't seem to take himself seriously. And as for a potential action star, you all mark my words, he WILL be the next big action star and I for one am very happy about that. The guy is a skilled martial artist who has trained since he was young kid, he's ripped, and from the trailer for Abduction, he looks like he is willing to and can handle decent stunt work. So again why the fuck are there so many assholes who spit on this kid? Is it because of the fact that he's a part of the Twilight franchise? Because if that is the case, I think I need to remind people where some of our current action stars started out. Ryan Gosling, the latest to be dubbed an action star, is in the film everyone can't stop raving about called Drive. Gosling started on the fucking Mickey Mouse Club singing cheesy disney songs, and is most well known for being in The Notebook. Now, as brilliant of a film the Notebook is, when it was released most guys cringed at the fact of being dragged to it for being such a girly romance. Yet now here he is, in not just amazing action film but one of the best films of the year. Also now I guarantee he will get action offers out the ass. Tom Cruise, now respected as an action star, was once a hated pretty boy that, even after doing Top Gun, was not seen as an action star at all. But with films like the Mission Impossible series, Collateral, and Knight & Day that has all changed. Remember when Matt Damon was the butt of many gay jokes between him and Affleck? He then he starred in the Bourne Identity, which had MANY rolling their eyes quite similarly. And not only did he shut everyone the fuck up, now there is a 4th Bourne film coming and many are bummed that he is not in it. And how about his friend Ben Affleck, holy shit, easily over a decade of disrespecting left and right from all types towards this poor bastard. Finally the man did The Town and silenced most of the shit talkers. And finally, need I remind you about a man named Bruce Wilis? Sure we all know him as John McClane and action royalty, but his big break came from a TV show called Moonlighting. For those who don't know, it was a romantic comedy, no action, and the main demographic was women. Yet Die Hard was born, and that was that. I could go on and on, but the point is most of the action legends are getting up there in age, it's time for a new generation. Now, am I saying Abduction will be his Die Hard, Drive, or Bourne? Maybe, maybe not who knows, but I for one hope it is. And action fans should not be rolling their eyes at this film, you should be happy this film is coming. Why? It's a martial artist starring in THE LEAD ROLE in an action movie that's actually being released in theaters. When is the last time that happened? Again, not some actor who trained six months in choreography, but an actual martial artist who has trained for years? The most recent I can think of is Blade Trinity which was so bad it killed one of the best superhero franchises ever. So look, am I saying run out and become the guy's biggest fan? Hell no. What I'm saying is he has not done anything to deserve this kind of bashing, and instead of following the masses of bitter judgmental idiots, instead at least just give him a shot. Also, why would you not want to see an action film that I guarantee you will be in a crowd filled to the brim with hot girls? Anyone?? So quit the bitching, quit the unnecessary bashing, and never judge an actor by where he starts. If you're not in the acting business, believe me, you have ZERO idea how hard it is when your income comes from acting, you must take what you can get starting out and be grateful. Some get amazing starts, others not so much. But in the end it's not about where you start, it's about where you finish. (That's what she said ha ha yeah I know). Mr. Lautner may have started as a wolf boy in a girly vampire flick, but I guarantee within the next few years that will be nothing but a memory, and many haters will change their tune. For now, I bid you schmoes adios and wish you all an awesome day.
Chillin'While I am not a fan of the moronic Vampire saga , I definitely am not a fan of anyone being tagged poorly because of a project they're involved in . It's funny that pretty much the ONLY member of the cast not being constantly hammered is Ashley Greene , who I would definitely place next to Jessica Alba as looks great , couldn't act to save herself .
Nice blog but my main gripe with Launter is his age. He is too damn young and further degrades a genre that's been getting blackballed (action).
I want action movies with hard asses, not 14 year old girls (Hanna) and boyish looking leads.
I've seen Lautner's martial arts and I admit, I'm impressed. Again, he is just too damn young for this genre.

You know razgriz21 is puking at the sight of this blog right now somewhere.
Here's a viewpoint from someone who hasn't seen the Twilight movies:
The only movie I've seen of Lautner is Shark Boy and Lava Boy and that movie was horrible even without him. I can't really blame the guy being in Twilight. He's getting recognized and he can move on to much better projects. Based on the Twilight tailers and the Abduction trailer, he seems very wooden in his acting. Another pretty bot trying to act. But Leo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, and many others were pretty boys before and have become some of the best actors of our time. Am I saying Lautner is going to be the next big actor? No. Am I giving him a chance? Yes, but only in a movie that actually challenges him acting wise. Not a Twilight movie or a Jason Bourne ripoff, but an actual movie with a good character he can play off on. Maybe even an action movie considering that he does know martial arts (I can't take that away from him). He's right now just eye candy for women just like Megan Fox is eye candy for guys. Neither are master thespians in anything they do. They're just good looking people in Hollywood that make millions of dollars in big franchises.
