Top 20 Favorite Movies of past decade (2000-2009)
Minority Report is a fucking great movie. Need to watch that again. Feels a bit overlooked, if you ask me.
very cool list J, i love seeing Minority Report getting the love it has at the end of the decade. It's a great film and i really can't wait to check it out again. Also dig the love for The Ninth Gate, Sky Captain and Unbreakable.
Love the love for the Ninth Gate. Anyone who truly likes it should check out the novel "The Club Dumas" by Arturo Perez-Reverte. Fantastic book. Took me 3 damn years to recreate the Novem Portis though (it's up there in my collection with the Necronomicon).
I see that Batman Begins makes the list; however, the Dark Knight does not. One appreciates that you appreciated Spider-Man and V for Vendetta. Each captured the zeitgeist of its particular year. In 2002, we wanted and needed a hero Spidey to inspire us. Later, we wanted V to acknowledge seeing what we saw and feeling what we felt.
I never remembered you liking Minority Report that much. It's good when movies grow on you though, I'm gonna rewatch a lot of the acclaimed stuff to see if I like them more before I make my list.

Yeah, this is basically my favorites LOOKING BACK, you know? People's tastes and shit change over a decade, and movies like MINORITY REPORT just grew on me more, as I've started to enjoy sci-fi flicks a lot more than before. I think I've watched it about 10 times in the past ten years. The # of times I've seen a film usually determines how much I dig it...
I've never really enjoyed PAN'S LABYRINTH, but I with ya on the rest of your list. I remember from your past Top 10 lists that you really liked THE LAST SAMURAI and OPEN RANGE a lot as well. MINORITY REPORT is one of my favorite Sci-Fi action movies ever.
Alot of these KICK-ASS....I used to be a Spielberg bitch.....but over the years I've become more of a Ridley Scott / Michael Mann / David Fincher lover instead......still haven't watched Benji Button though....
