One of the headlines i read said "went on a racially charged tirade". What that actually meant was that he was fed up with the racist crap he's forced to say on the show. He doesnt like how he is forced to act ignorant so much. I do love his character on the show, but i do feel like the joke is getting old. That means they either have to let his character go through a personal change, or gracefully bow him out of the series. (OMG great idea, next semester the group takes a business 101 course and Pierce leaves the study group to be the professor. He then turns into a recurring guest character, plus create a ton of funny material to work with.)
@ghostman, the scene wasnt supposed to be funny, it was supposed to add insight to a character that was mostly insufferable.
@cerealkiller, but that was already established. That's what Advanced Gay was all about, and whatever there was left to touch upon was done in Digital Estate Planning (8-bit episode). That tag was actually meant for Digital Estate Planning and even then it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, seeing how it was a big stepping stone for Pierce, giving up his chance to "kill dad" to his brother. By beating his dad up anyways right after that defeats the purpose IMO. Either way, I'm not upset it wasn't included and I don't think it ruined the episode by any means.

I have to disagree with this, I know he's gotten a lot of flack for the story about him refusing to a do a scene in Community, but I've read what that scene was and it sounded stupid and unfunny and I can't blame him. It was a tag where he threw baseballs at his dad who told him he was a good son.
I've actually been rewatching most of season 2 and Pierce is a great character. Chevy's a bit of an ass, sure, but not sure that's grounds for being fired.
