Just had a fantastic interview with an awesome surprise guest for the The Good, the Bad and the JoBlo movie podcast! Once again I am in love... with Moreno and Law of course.

If you've never seen this film, I HIGHLY recommend it. It would make a perfect double feature with THE DECLINE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION Part 1. Both are fascinating documentaries with great punk rock!

Excellent choice here. May seem strange but the older Eddie Vedder look reminds me of Russel Crowe.

Nice dude! I am inifintely ashamed to admit that I still haven't had my chance to see them live. They would always come around when I was younger and their concerts were too expensive at my age, and recently I'm to blame for missing them when they came through San Francisco. For the thousands of hours they've spent being the soundtrack to my life, I have really dropped the ball when it comes to supporting their live shows.
I was hoping you wouldnt ask about my other favorite bands haha. Only reason being I have hundreds of top bands and sometimes my top 3 shift. Im too easily influenced by my moods, so my picks can be contingent on my state my mind and once in a while I'll betray myself. Ill just throw down my top 5 so I dont regret anything later. Faith No More, like Pearl Jam they defied the mainstream expectation, Patton ventured even further left field and out the spotlight. It was all the more reason to follow their career. They kept me guessing at every turn instead of sticking to convention. Pattons more experimental side-projects are always interesting too. Radiohead; too many reasons to list. I love how esoteric and deceptively beautiful their sound is but it's all such dark shit. Presidents of the United States of America, always compared to They Might Be Giants and only remembered for two songs but I followed their whole catalogue and have seen then countless times live. They are the epitome of fun music. No egos. They plain enjoy jamming and seeing that during their live shows was infectious. They were more high energy than They Might Be Giants and they were known for breaking into crazy mash-ups of classic 70's rock, jazz and blues during their tours. Next to Pearl Jam they are my most listened to. Lastly it's a toss between Nirvana and Soundgarden (listening to Burden In My Hand now).
So there's my top...6? And now I just feel bad for neglecting the less "mainstream" bands I love. You know the feeling, there are just so many bands that go ignored because theyre aren’t radio darlings. I listen to a lot of metal and electro too (Daft Punk still the most influential considering todays sounds).
Crazy how I was 11 years old asking my dad to record unplugged sessions of Pearl Jam and Nirvana on VHS. Check what those kids are being fed on MTV and radio today. It's the most manufactured, soulless pop bullshit ever. So how about you man? What are some of your top picks outside of PJ?
Aside from PJ and a handful of the grunge guys (Alice in Chains, Screaming Trees), I love old school punk and country. My top five would be Pearl Jam, X, Fleetwood Mac, White Stripes and Ryan Adams and whatever band he happens to be with at the time. By old school I mean stuff like Ramones, Social D., Bad Religion, Circle Jerks, Black Flag and when it comes to country, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Waylon Jennings and that kind of stuff.
I also like everything from Metallica to Pantera to Lorenna McKennitt and Kate Bush. My taste is very eclectic.
Nice stuff man! AiC, Fleetwood, White Stripes, Ramones, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Black Flag, J. Cash...and of course Metallica and the fathers of modern hardcore/thrash; Pantera. I love them all.
I'm also a huge fan of Neil Young, Terry Reid, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zep, Sabbath, ELO and the list goes on.

Although I have to admit, their last album was pretty damn good, even without Layne. Still miss the fucker though:(
Great tune!
