im beyond upset right now. Robin was my all time favorite actor. I can remember watching him back in the early 80s on Mork and Mindy when I was just a preschooler. Ive grown up watching him and having immense respect for him. THis morning a coworker from the camp I worked at this summer also passed away from alcohol related problems (possibly intentionally). He was always making people laugh and was a truly funny and sweet man (he was in his late 50's early 60). Today has been a shitty shitty day.

After OBSESSIVELY watching Supernatural for the past few months (I watched the entire series, then started over and rewatched it again) I need a new show to obsessive over. I've gone through Netflix instant streaming, and can't find anything that seems interesting that I havent seen before. SUggestions? I want to keep it in the scifi/fantasy/horror genre. With great comedy/drama and some hot guys. Ok who am I kidding, I really just want SPN to have more that 8 1/2 seasons so I can keep watching that. But for realz, Suggestions for Instant NTFLX?
JenGirl824 at 06:00 PM Jan 24

for the record, ive already seen Buffy, OUAT, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Fringe, BSG, AlphasDollhouse,THe Xfiles Roswell The Twlight Zone, Robin Hood The Inbetweeners, BreakingBad, Scrubs, Merlin, OITNB, Torchwood,Lost, Firefly, Revolution, Glee
Gossip GIrl, That 70''s Show and probably a dozen more shows on there.

OldKingClancy at 06:14 PM Jan 24

I don't know if it's on Netflix but there's a show I use to watch as a kid called Farscape. It's a sci-fi show about an astronaut who gets trapped in a wormhole and ends up joining a group of aliens on their ship. I've not seen it in a while but it's like Firefly crossed with BSG with some impressive puppetry work for the aliens.

I was going to make a post asking you all if you could save only 1 character from any tv show/movie that died, who would it be? But then I would be nothing buy spoilers for people reading it. It makes me sad cuz Id loved to know who you'd all pick.
JenGirl824 at 06:59 PM Jan 15

Id pick the character that gets shot in the head on Supernatural.

My backups would be
-The character that dies at the end of Serenity
-The character that disappears at the end of BSG
-The character who write a message on their hand in Lost.

Cryptic enough?

JFernandes at 08:45 PM Jan 15

That Jesus fella from last year's The Bible.

I'm with oscarxp25... definitely a couple of unexpected ones. I'd also choose a certain someone from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. ;-)

So sometimes I'll watch my favorite movie or tv show. I'll get to the part where one of my favorite characters dies. Any even though Ive seen it 50 times and know it's coming, I just keep thinking..." No! No! it's not going to happen this time" Like if I yell loud enough at the tv I can change it.

Random Favorite Character : Castiel

"You know, I've...I've been here for a very long time. And I remember many things. I remember being at a shoreline, watching a little grey fish heave itself up on the beach and an older brother saying, "don't step on that fish, Castiel. Big plans for that fish." I remember the Tower of Babel...All 37 feet of it, which I suppose was impressive at the time. And when it fell, they howled 'divine wrath'. But come on - dried dung can only be stacked so high. I remember Cain and Abel...David and Goliath...Sodom and Gomorrah. And, of course, I remember the most remarkable event - remarkable because it never came to pass. It was averted by two boys, an old drunk and a fallen angel. The grand story. And we ripped up the ending and the rules...And destiny...leaving nothing but freedom and choice. Which is all well and good, except... Well, what if I've made the wrong choice? How am I supposed to know? I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me tell you my story. Let me tell you everything. " - Castiel

WTH Happened to Movie Posters

oscarxp25 at 04:25 PM Jan 05

This is really interesting. My friend, who is a graphic designer, talks about how lazy posters have gotten.

Truman Show poster is pretty amazing though.

What is your favorite poster?

Weapon X
Weapon X at 07:40 PM Jan 05

Exactly the question behind the creation of the Alternative Movie Posters book. How very far mainstream poster creation has fallen. Though he is being just a little unfair to some of the better modern efforts, like the Thor 2 poster.

YoshioKun13 at 08:03 PM Jan 05

That's a very good question.

Within 10 minutes of watching Muppets take Manhattan (a movie that ive probably seen near 50 times) Ive laughed like 12 times. Its sad that most adult movies of today dont have the type humor that 80s Muppets did. Even worse are the childrens/family movies of today. They dont come close to this level of funny. Most just dumb things down for kids. Makes me so sad.

We pretty much like the same kind of guys!!!! Jensen all the way. While I didn't like American Hustle, the character (as the actor) was extremely sexy.

The Great Gatsby. Yay or Nay? It's on demand for free. I couldnt even get through the first 10 pages of the book (BOOOORINNG) and have no idea what it's about, but I love Leo, and feel like it's one of those basic knowledge things I should have reference to. Is is worth it to try and watch, or am I just going to be bored like I was with that book?
Righteous_faustus at 07:54 PM Dec 31

I'd say go for it. I'm not too wild about the movie but baz's style really compliments the lifestyle of Gatsby.

JenGirl824 at 08:11 PM Dec 31

Wow had no idea people felt so strongly one way or the other about this film/movie. Honestly, Im just not a reader. Which is weird, since I collect books. I have hundreds and hundreds of books, and can spend hours in bookstores browsing, but dont like reading very much.

I think the only books ive read in the last 5 years were the hunger games series. If Im going to read something, Id prefer YA Novels to adult classics. And No GG wasnt required in my high school. Just boring shit like The Scarlet Letter and Great Expectations. Fuck that shit. I dont even think I read 1/2 of what was required in HS. As a kid I used to love to read. Id read an entire book a day, and used to stay inside from recess to read. Then I got to high school and they made us read all this classic shit and I learned to hate reading. I ended up cliffnotes-ing everything.

Mr.Blizzo at 08:35 PM Dec 31

If it's free, might as well go for it.

Dont know if anyone here is in the market for a new blu-ray, but I recently got one and it's AMAZING!!! The Sony BDP-S3100. It has all the standards (Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube, Pandora, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon Instant Video) But it has full internet, as well as the Sony Entertainment Network with over 100+ apps/services. The picture is great. Ive used my friends bluray players a lot, but none of them came close to offering what this one does. I can say Ive cut out my computer usage by about 50% just due to this blu-ray. Online its selling for about $75, which at first I thought was high. But with everything it does, I now feel like its a total bargain. it basically turns your tv into a smart tv. So thats my recommendation for youi guys if you need a new blu-ray
