Why Disney taking over things isnt a bad thing.
Some people are worried when Disney takes over (Marvel, Star Wars). But im going to make you feel a little better. Here's some posts (from different threds) letting you know what it actually means.

Ok People, Time for some Disney Education. Disney is a huge company. When most people think of it, They think ONLY of the happy Mickey Mouseness of it. BUT, Disney is broken up in into different subsidiaries. Yes the Basic "Disney" division exists (g rated movies, theme parks, what most people think of) BUT, Disney wants to make $$, so they expand by making things that appeal to all people. Miramax,Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures ARE DISNEY. Movies like Armageddon and ConAir (both rated crappy, but not exactly Kid-Friendly) Are Disney Movies. Yeah you all heard me. Miramax. CLERKS IS ESSENTIALLY A DISNEY MOVIE PEOPLE.
Dimension Films was part of Miramax, but got moved to The Weinstein Company in 2005. This means all movies like From Dusk till Dawn, some of the Halloween Movies, Hellrasier, Scream and it's first 2 sequels, Sin City, and Scary Movie (just to give some examples) ...These are all Disney Movies.
So yeah, Just cuz something is owned by the Disney Co. Doesnt mean it's a rated G kid friendly thing. Disney is going to keep Marvel exactly how it is now.

Disney snatched Miramax in 1993 so that in turn means they put out Pulp Fiction, Clerks, Kids (The Larry Clark NC-17 Film), Trainspotting, Jackie Brown, City of God, among other films. Can't hate them for that now can you.

yeah dude, Disney is just a company. It's like thinking that a kids movie by Lionsgate will be full of tits, blood, dicks, cuss words and gore. It's just a company - they're not gonna change anything.
I mean here's another example, what if Lionsgate suddenly bought Lightstorm Entertainment, with Lionsgate's history of a lot of (but not all) R-rated films would you assume that this means Avatar 2 is going to have heads blowing up, people hacking off peoples limbs, cannibals going around eating eachother, Neytiri whoring herself around, smoking some Pandora-crack and then telling Jake she's pregnant, telling him to go fuck himself and then killing the baby because she's so high? No, didn't think so. So with all due respect, I really really really don't think Disney will change anything, just like they don't cut off the boxing of MMA on ESPN (which they own) or the fights, scandals, adult-oriented documentaries, etc. also featured on ESPN and it's sister companies. Not to mention Disney owns a large stake in things like the History Channel, A&E, Lifetime, Crime & Investigation, Military Channel, and more

Disney Was involved with/made-Good Morning Vietnam, Pretty Woman, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Con Air, Face/Off, Air Force One, Starship Troopers, Armageddon, Unbreakable,O Brother Where Art Thou?, Pearl Harbor, The Royal Tenenbaums, Bruce Almighty, The Help, Lincoln, Clerks, The Crow, Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, From Dusk Till Dawn, Good Will Hunting, Life is Beautiful, Kill Bill Volume 1/2, Garden State, Finding Neverland, Gone Baby Gone, The Avengers. So just cuz Disney is the parent company, dont expect it to be some kiddie Mickey Mouse movie.
I hope this blog has now made you feel a bit better. :)
Chillin'One mistake though. Disney wasn't involved with Die Hard with a Vengeance. It was FOX and Cinergi (later bought by Disney).
Great explanation though.
As long as Marvel doesn't have Cinderella's Castle in front of it's movie (same for Star Wars), I won't complain.
Just keep signing checks to Lucasfilm and Marvel.
Actually DHWAV was distributed by FOX/Cinergi to the US, and Japan, and 1 or 2 other countries, but by Disney to several other countries (Germany/The Netherlands/UK etc). Not a huge involvement, but I included it anyway.
Honestly, I dont even care if they did have the castle at the beginning. Who cares about that part, as long as the movie is good.
And basically EVERYTHING JL said. Yet sadly, I still have to defend them to people who say silly things (friends and roommates) Plus I just hope this means they do something cool with the Star Wars section of WDW.

Disney taking over is a great thing and I can't think of what anyone would be worried about, aside from essentially trying to push out as many entries and make a gigantic franchise out of the product but wouldn't ANYONE be doing that anyway? Isn't that what we want from Star Wars again? What better way for this to be done then with one of the most powerful companies in the world with unlimited resources that won't stop until they go out of their way to have the best possible product for fans? Disney is an incredibly ambitious, masterful company that satisfies all areas of customers from the child to the hardcore film fan so this is all great news to me.
