Im going to read Gone Girl after watching the movie. While I found the movie pretty predictable, Im hoping the book is better. oh and also ******SPOILERS****** By the end, if i were him i would have killed her for real. go to a therapist a few months before killing her, tell the therapist and describe her symptoms as post pardom/ptsd. Talk her to friends about her "depression" (plant the seed in their heads). Then kill her and make it look like suicide. im guessing no one would just to the conclusion that he murdered her again, after they were all wrong the first time. and its pretty believable that a women who went through those experiences would commit suicide.

Golden Schome Request

With the end of the year approaching, I have a request MFC. Soon we will be upon the Golden Schomes. I've said it before, but now I want to do something about it.

Heres me beef-The t&a category isnt split up between sexiest male/sexiest female. Its seems because its called t&a, no one ever votes for all the hot men. Because that there has been an increase of those of us who drool over hot guys (us straight women, and gay men, or straight men with man-crushes), I say we change that.

Now...Some of you will say "The FAQ clearly states that both males and females can be nominated in the category. " But since there is CLEARLY more straight men than straight women+gay men on this site, a man will NEVER get chosen. However, if the category was separated (as actors/actresses are) the men on here who are cool enough to be comfortable with voting for a hot guy would have no problem. Then we could have a winner in each category and everyone would be happy. I just think that's something that could/should be changed and maybe....if you guys speak up it will. I've commented in the past, unless someone else wants to speak up, i dont think its going to happen.

If you agree we should have a categories for Golden Schome Hottie of the Year Male and Female, let joblo know! Send him a message.

I sent him a P.M., told him a lot of us would be up for the inclusion and if he'd like he could set up a poll vote to see how many others are fine with the choice.

I'll post his reply when I get one.

I am down for this too!, a poll sounds like a perfect idea.

What is up lately with all these actresses claiming "i'm not a feminist" or I don't "believe in feminism". that fact they they are even permitted to have a career proves that they are. Are they just uneducated and have no idea what the word means? It's something that bothers me every time I hear it, especially because young girls are reading/hearing them say it, and will grow up thinking feminism means something it doesn't.
JohnLocke2342
JohnLocke2342 at 06:22 AM Dec 31

Almost all of these quotes seem to be their "perception" of feminism or the idea that they associate with the word, which is sad for a couple of reasons. 1. That there's such negativity associated with a term that simply asks for equality in all forms and 2. That they need to further fuel the fire of negative connotations associated with the term.. It's bad on all levels and it's really just upsetting.

Laksmikanti
Laksmikanti at 09:06 AM Jan 01

Agree with JohnLocke2342 here, is their perception of feminism what is wrong, and there is a lot of negativity associated with that word, so I think they all speak based on misconceptions.

Chris Evans just made my day :)

Local News Article-

‘Captain America’ Surprises Young Fan Battling Cancer In Boston
By Paul Burton, WBZ-TV December 29, 2014 6:42 PM

"BOSTON (CBS) – Kenny Botting is only nine years old, but this young Connecticut man is bravely battling a brain tumor.

He underwent brain surgery back in September and for the past three weeks he’s been staying at Christopher’s Haven, a place that provides a home away from home for kids battling cancer.

“Christopher’s Haven has given me a new apartment and a new home to stay and be here,” Botting said.

Kenny’s been staying at Christopher’s Haven with his sister and mother as he undergoes treatment next door at Mass General Hospital. “This is home, a community and you bring the whole family here,” Christopher’s Haven Founder Dan Olsen said.

On Monday Kenny received the surprise of a lifetime when his favorite action movie star, Captain America’s Chris Evans, visited him.

Kenny took pictures, received an autograph and gifts from Evans. To top it off Kenny took Evans on a tour of Christopher’s Haven.

Evans is in town for a special event at Fenway Park this weekend to help raise money for Christopher’s Haven. “It’s their strength that gives me strength. No matter what hurdles are in my life it’s nothing compared to what these families go through, so any way I can bring a smile it’s worth it,” Chris Evans said.

Kenny could not stop smiling. “I am more than happy. I just want to say thank thanks for coming,” Botting said."
____________________________________________________________
My note-Chris actually does stuff life this often, but usually there's no news about it. This got picked up locally, because he doing a big fundraiser at Fenway Park, and is trying to make more people aware of the place. A lot of actors support big well known charities. Chris supports a lot of local hometown places. And personally as a resident of the nearby area, I can tell you he's done a whole lot of good here.

The link actually has the cutest video of Chris playing with the kids.

Side note: Lucky kid, Id like to tie him up too. But for a very different reason. (Im guessing this comment is much more disturbing if you haven't seen the video)

Ive found a few unknown/underrated film on netflix that I really enjoyed. Some more than others. Struck by Lightening, Electrik Children, Camp Takota, Blue Valentine, Camp, Four Rooms, Girl Walks Into a Bar, The Kids are all right, Not Suitable for Children, Short Terms 12, and a few more. Some are new to me, some are movies Ive seen before. I have to say, while most sections of Netflix are lacking, the independent sections is pretty great. I fully encourage people to go a randomly select a movie they've never heard of.

Righteous_faustus at 01:36 AM Dec 30

Short Term 12 is a movie everyone should watch. It's a perfect example of a small movie that Is just a cut above the rest and frankly, much much better than the "Oscar" selection of movies that came out that year.

I tried to watch The Grand Budapest Hotel. It just reaffirms my distaste for Wes Anderson. I can't seem to enjoy anything he does.

That's a shame. To each their own I guess but if you don't like Anderson than this movie would definitely not suit you. This and Moonrise Kingdom are probably the most Wes Anderson-y in his career.

You might check Bottle Rocket - I don't love it but it has the least of his unique style in it. It's more straightforward

I enjoy the "Simple" Things

1. "Simple" movies are what I call movies that are, well, simple. No over complicated plots, not a lot/or any of special/computer effects, usually (but not always) a small budget. Just simple character driven stories. These movies are my favorite type of movie. Here are just a few of the ones I enjoy
2. Short Term 12
3. Juno
4. Safety Not Guaranteed
5. Silver Linings Playbook
6. My Week with Marilyn
7. (500) Days of Summer
8. Whip It
9. 50/50
10. The Perks of Being a Wallflower
11. Precious
12. The Way Way Back
13. Nebraska
14. Smashed
15. Charlie Bartlett
16. Thanks for Sharing
17. Winter's Bone
18. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
19. The Kids Are All Right
20. Blue Valentine
21. Little Miss Sunshine

I do like a good blockbuster but I find myself enjoying the smaller, character driven films more often and plenty of my favourites are up here, excellent list my friend.

OldKingClancy
OldKingClancy at 07:39 PM Dec 28

Some recommendations for you. Locke, Fruitvale Station, Calvary, Mona Lisa, Drinking Buddies, The Before Trilogy (Sunrise, Sunset and Midnight), A Single Man, Naked (which admittedly is a tough watch but well worth it), Fish Tank and This Is England.

HTX0811 at 12:11 AM Dec 29

Great list. I feel about the same. Nothing wrong with big budget blockbusters but these movies tend to stick with me more on an emotional level.

If I have to recommend, anything directed by Wes Anderson, The Squid and the Whale, Greenberg, Half Nelson, Terri, Year of the Dog, Garden State, Medicine for Melancholy, King of California, Keith, Harold and Maude, Almost Famous, Jerry Maguire, This is 40, Funny People, Say Anything, Humpday, Daddy Long Legs, Cyrus, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Station Agent, Clockwatchers, Crooklyn, and Lawn Dogs.

Last year about this time, I did the MFC TV Awards but since tv doesn't change year to year as much as movies, I'll be doing it again next year. I figure every two years is good for them.

Holy crap! I cant believe I havent posted on here in a few months. Anyway I'm back. I just back from Into the Woods. If you are not a big musical fan then you should pass, but if you like musicals, or just like fairytale movies give it a try. I will say it has definitely been "Disney-fied" they changes a few things and cleaned it up for the kiddies. But it's still a good time and music is wonderful. 7/10

im beyond upset right now. Robin was my all time favorite actor. I can remember watching him back in the early 80s on Mork and Mindy when I was just a preschooler. Ive grown up watching him and having immense respect for him. THis morning a coworker from the camp I worked at this summer also passed away from alcohol related problems (possibly intentionally). He was always making people laugh and was a truly funny and sweet man (he was in his late 50's early 60). Today has been a shitty shitty day.
