Review:

I did NOT read the book. With this being said I am going to divide my review of this movie in two parts, hour 1 and hour 2. The first hour of this movie sucked, I actually wanted to stop watching it, which is something I seem to find myself wanting to do more and more lately, which must say something about modern cinema, but I digress. The first hour of the movie seemed rushed yet drawn out focusing more on visualization and not enough on story. At the midway point I really didn't give a shit about anyone in the movie even though some performances were pretty damn good. Stanley Tucci was brilliant and it was nice to see how Mark Wahlberg can act when he has a "director" who gives a shit. The first half of this movie would be great to watch tripping on mushrooms while watching with the sound off. If you know the premise of the story, and most people should by now, start watching at between the :45 to 1:00 mark. It was in hour two that I finally found myself interested in this movie because it finally started telling a story. I finally began to feel for the family of the girl, especially the father, really got the skeevies when Tucci was on screen and wanted it was okay for the "limbo" visuals because it felt pertinent to the story. Although I enjoyed the second half of the movie much more...[more]...

Take time, read the book. Chances are, you'll hate the movie even more.

Paranormal Activity

Paranormal-activity-poster

Directed by: Oren Peli
Written by: Oren Peli
Cast: Katie Featherstone, Micah Sloat
Studio: Paramount Pictures
Genre: Horror
Official Site: www.ParanormalMovie.com
Plot: A couple lives in a "haunted" house.

Review:

Morning - Woman: We need to call someone, today! Man: Don't worry I'll take care of it.
Night - Woman & Man: Holy Crap I'm scared.

Rinse and Repeat for 1:40

30 secs of creepiness not worth the $6 Matinee. I should have seen Zombieland again.
