While I'm at it, anybody have any good solutions on how to organize your collection?
I just have that shit alphabetized. Although that's a pain in the ass when everything's just laying around like that. If only there were a machine like the one at the bank where you just throw all the random money in and it just knows how much is there. Except with alphabetization of movies.

It looks like your moving boxes threw up all over your living room. Must have been some move. Anyway...my movies are all alphabetized. I have my Blu-Rays first in order, then DVD's in order.

I either alphabetize my collection or separate in genres and then alphabetize. Also within a genre I at times place a directors catalog together.
Thanks for the suggestions. The problem with alphabetizing (or any organizing in general) is that I get new DVDs to review every other week or so. So I'm constantly having to redo everything and its a pain in my ass. I have a 4 sided spinning tower and up til now they've just been haphazardly divided in to my favorite/highly rewatchable movies and box sets on one side, and then in some vague semblance of order by quality for everything else. (The last shelf is reserved for PHAT GIRLZ.)
Thinking about doing the "everything else" now by genre/quality, like great action movies, so-so action movies and then Val Kilmer direct to DVD action movies. We'll see how that works out.
But yeah, I think I'm going to need another real shelves or something.
I have systems within systems for organizing and it probably only makes sense to me, but there my DVD's so tbbts! :P I put sequels in order and directors catalogs together depending on the genre. I have like my MARVEL movies together and my DC movies together.
@Andres: I honestly don't know. I've had a bunch in boxes for a while and I've had a pretty lax policy with friends borrowing movies and stuff (which hasn't always ended well). The plan is to count and catalog everything as I do it now. I'll post the final count when I'm done.
@NiteOwl: I know where everything is in my own system too. But God help anybody else who tries to find a movie on their own.
I feel so much better that I'm not the only guy who organizes his movies. I put them in order of film company, I have a shelf for my FOX DVD's, one for Universal, etc, and an entire shelf for comic book movies.
It's cool to see that everyone has their own unique style for organizing their movies. Although, I have second thoughts about Moreno borrowing any of mine since he might pee on them. Plus, he already drank all my alcohol.

Oh mi shit. Dude. I thought unpacking my DVDs was going to be a nightmare. It will be a fun nightmare.
