This list will make you a goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus. Just like me.

Cultures need to examine one of their most important and affecting topics: War. Your list provides some of the best cinematic examinations of this profound occurrence. Every society member wants and needs to take a look at real life's greatest example of the incomprehensible, unthinkable, disturbing, confused, and chaotic.

I do like the Lightning as well...I was born in Tampa and they have a great GM. GO WINGS!!!!
I feel bad for Ryan Miller . I'd love to see him out of Buffalo and winning a Cup . Been too good for too long , and nada to show for it . I've been a Canuck fan since the Kirk McLean days .
^ Miller to Toronto for... no one, just do it for Miller's sake (and Toronto's). Come on guys, make a historic trade! Alright fine Buffalo you can have Scrivens... and Reimer... and every other goalie in the Maple Leafs system

He does! He's got Shia's eyes in this pic and everything else Tom.
I can't believe there are four movies on this list I have not seen. Shame. I need to get cracking, I really like him.
Russell Crowe, aka the Biebs... wait what haha
man I still gotta see Romper Stomper, Maximus owns all

7. Oh man, did I go through a Zissou phase when I saw that movie. Didn't like it the first time but it grew on me with repeat viewings. I kept watching that movie over and over around 2005 and the same came be said for the soundtrack. I had no idea how awesome David Bowie was until I saw that movie. I got so obsessed to the point that I just was going to Steve Zissou fan sites any chance I could. That's an actual thing.
A lot of great choices here.

I haven't seen all but the ones I've seen on this list were fab. 1,2,3,7,9
Seen em all. Oddly enough McQueen hated the Blob and disowned it later in his career.

Proof that Ireland is full of amazingly hot men and I must move there now!!!

oh this is fucking awesome dude, thank you so much for the Renner casting! Love this flickkk

I have no idea how I haven't seen Hoffa yet... def gotta get on that asap

Based on a list by horrorfan23
lmao this "list." I love it.
I think I paid $75 - $80 for Casablanca and more than that for Wizard of Oz. Early 90s.
ETA I got both of those for Christmas gifts actually over a couple years, but from my husband so I knew the price. No way was I buying movies that expensive for the heck of it, lol.
Oh and ETA again, this on an Air Force Base so cheaper. They would have been more expensive off base.
Okay I'll blame the wine for my rambling but that gif is adorable. That was my Grandpa. He and his Matlock and JAG.
VHS was big for the rental business back then, studios would sell movies to chains at these exorbitant amounts and they could turn a profit with 'em. It was considered a luxury to own a copy of your favorite movie to have to watch in the comfort of your own home!
Imagine that.

2 was so great haha, loved 5 so much as well. 3 is a classic tune, as were many in Argo but I just remember all of the awesome songs being cut off like 5 seconds after they started... really dig #1 too, good track

^ lol I've been waiting on my significant other to watch Seeking A Friend - been waiting awhile getting impatient-

Based on a list by OldKingClancy
TGTB&TU is barely edged out by For A Few Dollars More - and it's still chock full of Lee Van Cleef-

Thought I wouldn't be able to watch porn again after 8MM. Dodged a bullet there.

Based on a list by walkingdeadlover
I wanna see a remake of that Clydesdale commercial with him and the Rancor.

holy shit this is awesome! Yeah old time hockey! Wow dude haha I absolutely love this, thanks so much

Based on a list by JohnLocke2342
We have a lot of similarities, most notably Take Shelter.. fucking loved that flick.

^ It's one movie but it's a culmination of the first 2 books in the series-
Oh, okay thanks Invidtus. I wonder why they never made more movies, I think it did really well at the time. I thought it did anyway. I've seen some of the Horatio Hornblower series those are fun, not sure why I never did see this one movie. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks! I put you on a list too!

Mockbusters haha, that just made me have more appreciation towards them

Breakthrough performance? That's not even a category... what about best sound mixing??
;p Great list never the les, still need to see Silver Linings Playbook but I loved Moonrise Kingdom
5 was overlooked I think, and 6 even moreso... I actually wouldn't be against that one winning at all, she was fantastic

Joaquin won't win because everyone knows his acceptance speech will be unpredictable. And he may not even show up. He hates the award shows so much
To me Prometheus got the nominations it deserved. It had wonderful special effects, and that's about it. I'm really not surprised Prometheus got almost zero Oscar love. I'm kind of disappointed TDKR didn't get technical awards.

no hockey puck torture scene from Paul Walker's Epic '' RUNNING SCARED '' ?? GREAT LIST , Bro Nieuwendyk !!

Sorry dude I'm spamming your list but Robert Duvall just gets me excited

4 and 5 were must sees in the theatre... try to catch em if there's still a showing
I agree with Cochise about 4 and 5. The rest you can easily catch them elsewhere.

^ What's not to love about Ms. Chastain? She's smoking hot AND a damn good actress!

he was so good in 9. Hilarious in #1 and I really liked 3 up until the clunky, broken finale/third act

Play the volume loud as you want to, but don’t touch my levels now. I got them set just like I like ‘em.

Based on a list by horrorfan23

'' A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 287 : NURSING HOME NIGHTMARE '' is my fave in the series . You should check out '' CHASING SLEEP ''

Good list. Fargo is such a great movie. Love The Wonder Boys as well.
The first Grumpy Old Men is a fun winter movie too.

yeah I think #4 is underrated, he played a great villain. Also love #9 haha, 2, 6, 7 too
Nice list! I particularly like #1, #2. and #7, although I'd probably flip #1 and #2.

Based on a list by LegendarySuit
Good list, although I haven't seen a lot of the more 'serious' flicks on here. I've heard nothing but great things about #1.
^ +1
some great choices man, espescially 5, 8 and 10. Killer Joe was fun as was TDKR and Avengers. Can't wait to see The Master!

Lot of good choices here, I'll stand behind more of Cranston in anything

Based on a list by LegendarySuit

nice! He was fantastic in #1 for sure, underrated performance and flick. Underseen at least.
Love him in 3, 5, 6, 9 as well

5 - must see if it was Daniel Day as Plainview... he should just play Plainview playing other characters in every movie haha

"There a voice...that keeps on calling me...down the road...that's where I'll always be..."
Great list but where's Beethoven? That possibly supernatural St. Bernard saved a girl from getting raped in that second movie by destroying the entire house where the rape is about to take place. That alone should garner a place on this list.
Beethoven and Air Bud didn't make the cut due to substance abuse allegations-

I could go for more female villains. Remember that rumor Rachel Weisz would be the head of Quantum? I hope they don't let that idea just drift away.

These are shows you would bring with you on a deserted island? Or shows that belong on a deserted island? Or shows that have an episode on a deserted island? Or shows where the main character is a deserted island?
I'm going to go with A - shows I would bring to a desert island. Now shows that belong on a desert island will end up on a future list lol-
@Vitaman - I think it's quite clear that these shows were all WRITTEN on a desert island. Obviously. Right?

Awesome list . AP's rollin' again , and that's always a great thing to watch .

#3 "Bad Neighbors" had actual cultural significance--as many Simpsons episodes do. The Bush administration had attacked TV characters (because America did not have more pressing matters), so a TV character attacked back.
#4 & #9 These Nixon and W biopics are not bad ones. Movie-lovers should remember that these two films are around.

I Love every single movie where this guy is. I haven't see The Master yet... my time will come.

Suppose I'll need to watch this after all.
Saw it for $3 at the local BIG LOTS!.
Well I guess I need to rewatch this huh? One of the few zombie movies I actual enjoyed. Thanks man, another badass chica!

Used to love this show as a kid. Haven't seen #8 but did you know "Chinga" means fuck in Spanish?

Based on a list by Terror Australis
1. 2.! 5. 6. 7. 9.! 10.! The 80s was loaded with gr8 horror films. My top 5 from that decade are - Halloween 2 The Howling Poltergeist II:The Other Side Fright Night and Omen III:The Final Conflict

1. Holy shit, I don't know what troglodytes watch TLC, but I feel disgusted just saying those initials.
2. Haha, he's fat, and loud! Never seen that before!
10. Ouch. Damn, I love that movie.
^ I don't think it's even so much the movie as the soundtrack - I live right across from a hall that hosts weddings 100 times a year - that may explain things-

A translation of a letter that the lady who redid the jesus wrote to her fans
"Hello: I am Cecilia Giménez
I would like to address all of you to thank you for all your support.
Thanks to the people like you I am overcoming one of the worst situations of my life.
I could never have imagined that at my age they would trample on my dignity after all that has happened in my life.
I do not know when all this will end but I will always remember you.
I am sorry not to have contacted you earlier, but I was not in a state of mind to do so.
My heartfelt thanks once again.
P.S. The precious flowers
Signed Cecilia Giménez"

Bard was always my favorite in The Hobbit... thank you man, this is great!

"Talk Show Host" is one of their best songs, I can listening like 45 times in a road and never gets old.
I still like "Creep", yeah I know what you guys think of that song.
Also, I love "No Surprises".
Where the hell is "Karma Police"?, yes I get it, is not your favorite, I am going to check some you have here that I haven't listen…. yet!.
^ I had to work with 10 total songs from 8 studio albums so Karma Police didn't make the cut (more like 7 albums because Amnesiac kind of sucks)-

That is awesome, is really a hard habit to break, and I swear that you smell so much better now.

Absolutely love 3-6 and 9-10. I still have my system and play it quite often. It's amazing how easy it is to get caught up in these games and play them the same amount of time as the current Gen systems if not longer.

Jane, voodoo, Yaphet Kotto, Paul McCartney and Wings - what's not to love ?-

@WalkAway: Yes it does. He's a fine actor whose been in very good movies, as the schmoes above have pointed out. Do the foot work.
By the way I most recently re-watched Blue Velvet. Man what a film. Excellent performances all around.
Aside from the other great performances, MacLachlan also voiced Superman, and was great as Cary Grant in "Touch of Pink."

Amsterdam and illegal smoking. That can only mean one thing!
Brownies.

Based on a list by JenGirl824
We have very similar tastes in a lot of things... add... men to the list.

I'm sorry, was there a list here? I saw the picture and all higher brain functions were cut off.
Cool u did this,my ranks are way different but I like the idea all the same. (been Trekker all my life!)Mine = 9. 5. 7. 2. 8. 4. 1. 6. 11. 10. 3.

Based on a list by Kevin Smith fan
Yes! Approved! Although I can't say I enjoyed The Hunger enough to include it on my lists.

nice, I've only really heard their hits and a couple others, gotta track the rest on here down

^ I was sticking to celebs trust me you still rank way above naked Prince Harry don't worry-

^^haha, I saw this in my e-mail notifications and I was like... what did I do?? haha, it wasn't me precious! ...stupid fat hobbit

Based on a list by wallcrawler383

Excellent actor and Derek vineyard is my favorite character hes portrayed. Cannot wait for the 25th hour blu ray coming

I will add Bobby De Niro, Sean Penn and Jack Nicholson. Oh! and Samuel Jackson too. Great list !

A lot of great choices here, I still remember seeing the video for 5, that was fucked up.
I saw Trent and Co. live 2 times in 1995 opening for David Bowie's "Outside Tour" - Still not a fan of NIN. Trent did do some damage to lights during one show. + NIN opened in a most interesting way in Ohio. The band ran on stage full speed to mics etc., then kicked into whatever song it was? That was kinda neat.

1. YES I hate seeing people blow smoke onto children. If you want to poison your own lungs fine, but leave theirs alone
Based on a list by The Bodyguard

Agree with ALL except Lil Wayne. A lot of his stuff is shit, but he also has some great stuff. His beats are always top-notch. I thought his latest, Tha Carter 4, was his best work. Nice list though.

^ lol - I try to avoid your cries of favoritism and see what happens ?- there's no pleasing you foreig....I mean you MFCers-

Mine would have something like: Green Eyes (Coldplay), Back to Black (Amy Whinehouse), Yellow Submarine (Beatles), great list, wonderful choices Invidtus, specially 9. That is my all time favorite band.
I loves me some NEW ORDER !! And some REM . Great job , My Friend , stellar list !!

Based on a list by Psycho-Pirate-99

Can't disagree with this list.
For #5: Tom Six is the director, in case you were wondering.

Based on a list by JohnLocke2342

i'd also like to add batmanning even if it was partially inspired by bro-humor

We shall Have an epic rivalry that turns into a glorious bromance... Btw funny you posted this after I cut my hair exactly like Mace from this movie today lol

Based on a list by OldKingClancy
Happy Birthday, My fave is She's So Cold. It's his 69th, hope he's partying like a rock star!

Based on a list by wallcrawler383
nice list, just watched #5 yesterday actually and yep, I really don't think it gets enough love. The second always gets all the attention but I revisited that not too long ago and it wasn't as good as I remembered, revisited the original last night and it was even better than I remembered.
It's my favorite of the trilogy- if it had some Ron Perlman be even greater-

method acting? I'll show you method acting = the Machinist. Aside from that actually an awesome flick too
still gotta see 2, 5 and 10 but as for the others like 3, 8 and 9 and love 4 6 and 7. Dude has an awesome resume!

Seems about right to me.
I actually prefer AVP 2 over the 1st one though.

Based on a list by MonsterZeroNJ

#6 & #10 How often do you think the average Schmoe plays these two classics in his head each day? How about how often during his workday? It must be everytime that he needs to be "Rising up. . . . ."

^ you were driving drunk when you picked him up after being set on fire by Scarecrow ? Weren't you ? WEREN'T YOU ?-

5. Adam's Apple '75
6. Seasons of Wither '74
7. Critical Mass '77
8. No Surprize '79
9. Three Mile Smile '79
10. Combination '76

#1 you mean bonhomme carnaval, right?!
#3 i know right? What ref lets a fight go on after the championship is won? And what league would allow recruting players during playoffs?

I have no idea who Sunda Kastagir is, but I imagine it's a bad ass character.
FAVORITISM!! Oh wait... thanks for the inclusion :D
Tis' been a long time Highlander, might have to revisit you

Based on a list by horrorfan23
When out of nowhere you mention me... unlike horrorfan and his favoritism. ;p

I guess that means I stink, huh? Just playing, thanks for the inclusion, I am terribly honored!
NICE! Does that mean I have about 5 more years before I balloon into a beached whale?

Oh hells yeah! Thank you so much for the inclusion. This just made my day.

2012 - Year of the Theron, Year of the Johannson, Year of the Hathaway...

``You know what happens if you do another turn in the joint?``
``I fuck your father in the shower and then have a snack? Are you going to charge me dickhead?``
Hell yeah. Thanks for the inclusion. "Pretzel Man" still cracks me up whenever I hear it.

Based on a list by VitamanMan8
lol - I should have put "in no order" - but now I think of it the top 3 are pretty much in line : D -

OMG How is he almost 50! I want to cry. But I he will always be awesome :) Great list.
I feel like I've grown up on his movies. I'm talkin' "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Private Resort".

I've got that Trainspotting poster up beside my bed. I recite it everyday on the way to college.

Just thought of Steve Buscemi, he would look pretty creepy with clown makeup on.
I think they should just bring Tim Curry back. Hes the obvious choice in my opinion. I would like to see Jackie Earl Haley take on the roll though if Curry falls through. Despite all the negative comments about his take on Freddy Krueger (which I think he was awesome at by the way) I think he would do the roll justice.

Dat's racist. Kidding! Love it because I adore Lucy and I do collect heads lol

A lot of good stuff on this list. My favorite has to be found on Hannibal. Vide Cor Meum.

I think her character in Vanilla Sky was exactly like her... a total freak. I don't like "There is something about Mary" I actually think that movie is disgusting. I enjoyed so much My Sister's keeper BUT... she was annoying in that film.

#1 Haley perfected the Freddy Krueger voice; he might as well use it.
#4 & #5 The current players are great. But, your suggestions up the ASSKICKER QUOTIENT!
#7 I would convert to the darkside!
#8 Bane and Destro could be brothers. Hardy could get paid doing what he loves and perfects.
#15 Lewis can play anything. For a hoot, his Serpentor should use the There Will Be Blood voice. Good list, man.

^What Derek says, he was the MAN in NBK. I wish he made more great stuff.

The Crossing Guard is so incredible! Check out The Pledge if you haven't seen it too.

Florence is one of my favourite places in Italy. I loved it much more than Venice...mostly because unlike Venice, it doesn't smell.
lol - that sounds like a comment one of my friends made about Rome - "it was boiling hot and really dirty" - some much for "Rome is the light"-

Seeing Sam Riley in the movie Control is freakishly close to seeing Ian Curtis IMO. Lead singer of my all time favorite band ever.

I really love Walken's portrayal of Gabriel that was SUCH an awesome role.

lmao

alright, now THAT is one funky ass costume... put him in the next movie lol!
JESUS H CHRIST IN A CHARIOT DRIVEN SIDECAR !! This list is unbelievably SWEET , Great Bands , Great Taste !!

Solid Stuff!!!! My favorite from THIS list is 6. and 10. Also I enjoy 9. very much.

Hell i'd also kiss Cronenberg like that for giving us such a fine list of movies.

I wish my name was Michael just so I could share these people's first names.
This is one of the better lists of this kind. Lots of awesome people here.

Based on a list by Psycho-Pirate-99

Everyone talks about Prometheus, Avengers, and Batman 3 (and for good reason), but I am also dying to see On the Road, Wettest County, and Argo.
real glad to see #8 on there, very much lookin forward to that!! also as much as I'm sick of fucking vampires, I won't say no to a Timur directed movie, I'm in!

this list is perfection dude... whenever I'm hungover I always go Indy or superhero as well.

Great List!!!...It's hard to have a Shipwreck episode on in the background when doing something...that voice of his makes it really hard to concentrate (and that fucking bird too!)

TALK SHOW HOST!!!! excuse me... I have to go and listen that song 25 times more.

Good stuff.. never been a big fan of Janssen and much less Berry but the rest are the best!

lol I saw #8 in the theatre 1981 - it has sentimental value - and it wasn't going to be Rita Coolidge-

-So you never wanted a regular type life?
-What the fuck is that? BBQ's and ball games?
I've one seen two movies on your list: Collateral and Miami Vice. I love Collateral. Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx are great. But I hated Miami Vice after seeing it in the theater.

Great films, and a couple of others are Chloe and One Week as well! LOVE the shit out of Ginger Snaps... great film!

Based on a list by Psycho-Pirate-99

Excellent list. Inspired choices too. Trading Places as number 1!? You and me both buddy.

Faith No More now they have reformed and playing better than ever(they didn't look happy the time I saw them leading up to the break up) maybe we will get a new album sometime soon

I remember watching this movie in high school because we were studying The Heart of Darkness. Brando was incredible.
^Lucky! I asked my teacher to watch it in class after we spent about 3 months dissecting that book...no luck. Oh Marlon, I wish we had you back.

1,2,6,7, and 9 are horrible. I've yet to see a few of the others mentioned.

great list man, I especially love seeing Young Guns and the 3:10 to Yuma remake on there.. that's a gorgeous poster.

Based on a list by Terminal_83

@ horrofan -Gere and the gerbil- then in the next picture you just see Gere-

^lol I had this vision of what the Tumbler would do to zombies plus he's pretty bite proof - he's like the team quarterback^-

Based on a list by horrorfan23
Let the right one in or Let me in??
Also thanks. I'll add the hunger and salems lot to my queue.

I was going to copy this list, but it would end up almost exactly the same. Only difference would be I'd add in Gage's attack on Judd in Pet Sematary. Awesome list!

Nice choice for #1. It seems like every band has a song titled "These Days" for some reason (Foo Fighters and Black Keys just off the top of my head) but R.E.M.'s it totally the best. Not that I'm bias or anything.
Nice to see so many of the more obscure titles on here. Great job!

EXCELLENT FUCKING LIST! Love me some Pearl Jam, like every damn day. Funny how Glorified G, Blood, Release and Black are very high on my personal list as well.

Um that Mel Gibson movie is Man Without a Face and it is A GREAT MOVIE, sir.

"Now we are free" is one of my all-time favorite tracks... in the history of music.

gotta throw Tom Hardy on there.. but another perfect fucking list my man.
JGL is getting buzz for 50/50 but everything seems to be lining up for a DiCaprio win.

Yeah, but he eats it in The Last Crusade. LOL! BTW, I laughed so hard I hurt a testical when I read #5!

I can totally agree on Gosling, Hounsou, Rapace, Rockwell, Farrell, Laurent and Franco

Glad you gave some love to Logan's Run. I would have replaced Spaceballs with the original Alien , but it is a really good list.

Don't get me wrong it did have it's good points (Sandra Bullock impressed the hell out of me in parts, and Matt Dillon was great. I just liked all the movies I listed better)-
I thought Munich was the best movie of 2005. Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong was really good as well.

Man! In Outbreak, (spoiler) I still hate seeing him die!! What a great actor!!!

Great list, he was also great in the ultimately evil bastard he was in Sleepers.

Based on him alone and not the whole movie ? no it doesn't make the cut for me-

the winchester is right up my alley. thats where i would want to go
My idea bar-hopping night would go like this: pre-party drinks at The Winchester, then hop on down to the Korova milk bar to dose up for a little bit of the ol' ultra-violence, then it's on to the Double Deuce to drinks beers, down some shots, and get in a few bloody fist fights. Then finally, a pop on down to The Oriental to opium bake myself into a coma...the end.
Oh for sure.I actually messed up that order once - don't put the fight AFTER the opium because you will probably lose-

#1-niiiiiiiice! and man, i'd love to use a vuvuzela at a soccer game, I do love the sound of those
There Will Be Blood is brilliant.. and major bonus points for using Ricky Vaughn's Cleveland Indians as your favorite baseball team.

I can't believe I didn't see this list until now! AWESOME!! I love and miss old school RHCP!! Mother's Milk was such a great album!

Based on a list by cerealkiller182
I hope '' THE SHINING '' appearing twice, was an error, testament to how much you love the film , or the first signs of dementia, and not referring to that god-awful re-make on ABC a few years back !! P.S. , AWESOME LIST MY MAN !!

Based on a list by tbondrage99

Ooops Black Swan as well - just like milk on the grocery list sometimes the first thing is the first one forgotten-

1. 7. 8. Here's mine(if U don't mind?)---->1.Robin Trower 2.Elliot Easton 3.Joe Perry 4.Brad Whitford 5.Alex Lifeson 6.David Gilmour 7.Brian May 8.Angus Young 9.Ronnie Wood 10.Keith Richards
Don't forget the trio of Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, and Janik Gers from Iron Maiden.

I have a soft spot for Amnesiac. Probably because I heard it before Kid A.
It's not that I dislike King Of Limbs just the middle tracks leave me cold - plus the acoustic version of Lotus Flowers is in my opinion way better doesn't need to be dance mixed up- don't hate me because I'm beautiful Kitty-
I feel like I'm the only Radiohead fan alive who thinks HttT is one of their best albums. For me it would go - Ok, HttT, Kid A, In Rainbows, The King of Limbs, Amnesiac, The Bends, Pablo Honey. Although I'm interested to see how King ages with me though. It took me awhile to come to love In Rainbows as much as I do now from when I first heard it.

@WC, you can beat cool ranch doritos, with nacho cheese doritos!
Cool list dude, definitely on board with #1!

I absolutely love The French Connection. Gene Hackman was just awesome in that film.

4 1/2 Gold Stars for you, My Friend !! GREAT STUFF !! DelToro, and Bardem both rocked their roles big time !! Not a single argument up there My Man !!

Raising Arizona, Gangs of New York, and of course, Debbie Does Dallas came to my mind first, haha. Cool idea.

Oh yeah as the runaway kid who lived with the Seaver family - you've convinced me its now #1
The Beach wasn't really that bad. If it were my list, I'd have Aviator in the third spot.
I liked the Beach - most hated it because of their gushy Titanic overflow -nothing more-

Great list, lots of good movies filmed where you are. I so loved 50/50 and Juno, and I really liked Insomnia and MI 4 too.
