Based on the novel by Frederick Forsyth (albeit with a few changes), The Dogs Of War is a nice balls out straight forward military thriller. Christopher Walken plays Jamie Shannon, a mercenary working on behalf of big business to sweep out a mad man dictator so an "agreeable" President can be sworn in - but he just may have a personal agenda of his own. Supporting cast includes Tom Berenger, Paul Freeman, George Harris (Belloq and Katanga from Raiders !) and JoBeth Williams. To put it simply and with no surprises I am sure - Walken kicks ass-
