heres the back story, colt cabana won the nwa world heavyweight championship from adam pierce, adam challenged to a 7 levels of hate best of 7 series with each match having a different stipulation.
the 2 traded the belt back and forth up to the final match where adam pierece was to defend the belt against cabana in the cage in match 7.
at the last minute the board of directors told pierce that under no circumstances would they recognise cabana as champ and they did not want him as nwa champion so the match would be non title. cabana won the match and the feud but not the belt
post match both man cut a shoot promo about how out of touch the nwa is and pierce said that he resigned as nwa champ and was leaving the nwa forever with cabana
