let this be said batman and robin is a terrible movie.
dark night rises has a lot of people who love it.
my argument is always this, batman and robin is the better batman film not the better movie in general.
say what you will about b and a but it knows what it is. its a comic book film, it sticks to the rules of batman its not complicated its straight forward. its also easier to just go with the absurdity of the story cause it sticks to its own rules.
the dark night rises flies in the face many times of what makes batman batman. it tries to hard to steep itself in reality when it has to put the comic booky stuff in it just does not work.
if they trimmed stuff like the doctors scene where he tells him his knee is shot, and the bruce wayne being broke stuff it would nullify the holes in the plot and make it a tighter film.
did we really need to have harvey dent be remembered as the hero when they just could have blamed everything on the joker?
was the auto pilot thing such a big deal it had to be mentioned over and over?

i'd like to see someone do a edit on the dark night rises tighten it up get rid of the self indulgent fluff i think it would make it a better batman film because it is already a entertaining movie

Matching Batman and Robin against the Dark Knight Rises is like pitting Lord of the Rings against Dungeons and Dragons. Or The Exorcist against Seytan. Or Superman: The Movie against Doneyor Superman. Star wars against Flesh Gordon.

I can actually see your point. IMO both miss the point and fail as movies. B&R tries to be all comic bookie and is trying to be different in a fun way but misses in a daring way. DKR has some deep issues brought up in an interesting way and fantastic acting just a horrific plot.
So going in to this sundays ppv, cm punk has a heavy task in defending his wwe championship in a hell in the cell match vs ryberg.. i mean ryback.
wwe is pushing ryback hard as its new big thing(sorry brock) and punk is coming is up on a year long title reign.
Does wwe keep punk looking strong for rocky? the rock will soon be back and he will wrestle the big ppv stretch from suvivor series to wrestlemania or do they they take a chance and put the title on ryack and try to create a new star.

so getting back to hell in the cell here is my way of shaking things up but still protecting everybody
forgive me for the format im not horrorfan i know my writing limitations,
hell in the cell ppv this weekend
it cuts the back where some interviewer probably josh mathiews because its all hes good for.
mathiews is with a nurvous cm punk who is putting on his gear with paul heyman pacing back and forth
punk cuts a very irritated promo about how hes one of the longest reigning champions of the modern era and his gonna beat some respect into ryback, haflway through the promo heyman gets on the phone and his reaction changes from worry to surprise to slimy satisfaction like it all went his way. at the end of punks promo heyman cuts it short saying him and his client have a meeting they have to attend to as punk looks confused.
cut to the match of ryback vs punk. punk bumps his ass off and makes ryback look like a million bucks. its the bloodiest hell in the cell match that has no blood because vince says so.... and his wife is losing a election or some thing.
at one point ryback power bombs punk through the cage wall ala wwe video games

2nd referree gets involved he gets knocked out.
out comes john cena in a ref shirt,cm punk responds with a temper tantrum on the house mic about how hes not not going to get screwed this way and grabs the title and starts walking towards the back cena goes after him and they start brawling back to the ring as ryback stands there confused.. underneath the ring slithers randy ortin waiting to pounce.. ryback turns and randy hits a monster rko on ryback through a table which was set up earlier ring. rybacks knocked out and taken care of
cena looks baffled in the ring as cena is jawing with ortin about what are you doing? punk grabs the title and swings but misses. as cena turns back towards ortin he too is hit with a rko punk and ortin stand face to face in the ring stare each other down then similtaniosly smile and beat the living hell out of ryback and cena with chairs to the applause of a joyous paul heyman punk and randy stand triumphantant
ppv fades as jr on commentary angrily yelling at that bastard viper randy ortin you are a son of a bitch.. as only jr can say.
now don't ask me how a hell in a cell match can end in a no contest, blame that on vicks assistant to the general manager bullshit.
end result no body loses randy is interesting again and he can have ryback chase him. john cena stll isn't champ ,cm punk can move onto the rock.

I hate Heath Slater, and his 3MB. As for the WWE belt, I don't see how it works without Ryback winning to be honest. With as hard as they're pushing him now, and his whole unstoppable gimmick and all, if he loses it'll completely kill that character and his push.
with the newest issue of earth 2 from dc comics hitting stands last wednesday. we were briefly introduced to the newest jsa alum into the book wesley dodds the sandman. now earth 2 writer james robinson has done some really interesting reboots of the members of the justice society. characters like the atom are an amalgamation of atom smasher, the original atom and damage combigned into one.
when we see wesley for the first time he is part of the world army a new concept robinson is doing for earth 2 and hes also canadian.
it looks they are trading in the trench coat and fedora for more of a metal gear, splinter cell type look but he still has the gas mask which is awesome.
now as a canadian dc comic fan i really like dc is finally giving us some canadian heroes with sandman and booster gold.
james robinsin said that the decision is reflective of his experience at fan expo in toronto. at the dc panel he was referring to i was there one person asked point blank why marvel has wolverine and alpha flight etc where is the dc canadian love?
now we got 2 and one may not exist anymore if you've read the jli annual but at least its a start.

Surprisedso we are less then 1 week away to wwes biggest show of the year and i must say i'm more then a little meh going into it.
lets go over the card and ill give my thoughts.
john cena vs the rock
its a lose lose situation, the biggest match of all time doesn't really benefit anyone. if the rock wins he leaves and yes we can take pride in the fact that cena didn't win but there really is no where to go from there.
the only thing that would be interesting would be if this was the final nail in the coffin to send cena over the edge and turn him heel. he said it himself he has to win. what happens if he doesn't, what happens if everything comes crashing down and the years of cena sucks get to him and hes just fuck everyone cena desperately needs a overhaul just have him go corporate and become johnny ls number 1 guy in a new corporation stable. it worked with hogan when he turned heel it will work with cena, now if cena wins all it does is piss everyone off and bury the rock. wwe will never pull the trigger on cenas heel turn so i could care less bout the main event.
cm punk vs jericho.
sadly this might be the opening match but its got one of the better build ups. leave it to jericho to watch some old roh tapes with some classic promos punk used to cut about how his dad was a alcoholic and use this to get under punks skin. its sad christian gets fucked out his wrestlemania match as a sacrificial lamb but it really sold punks rage that hes going to rip jerichos head off. i don't see jericho winning since he comes and goes so much but punk is top dog now and him vs christian could be a good feud post wrestlemania. lets hope christian gets one ..more..match.. against punk for revenge.
danial bryan match vs shamus
this is going to be the sleeper match of the night.
shamus and dragon are going to work a very physical match and hopefully bryan will go over, they have transitioned dragon very well from being the chicken shit heel to the technical submission monster we all know him to be, bryan accells at being a heel and i'm begging him to yell at the ref that he has till 5 at least once. main reason i see him retaining is him vs ortin post wrestlemania

i think they dropped the ball in this and they should have shocked everyone and have teddy add miz to his team and thus begin the miz face turn. miz vs laurinitus could be something special and mr excitement is going to need someone new to get under his skin at the very least long could have put brodus clay on his team to counter act mark henry
big show vs cody rhodes
as much as i would have loved to see golddust vs cody at wrestlemania this has had a geat build. cody is such a cocky prick and show is going to kill him. have show win for once cody can get the us title then and bring the prestige back to that, or feud with punk post wrestlemania

Yeah...I will always Love The Rock, but if Cena wins against him, it'll piss me off royally...even though I know it'll happen, as I dont see WWE letting Rock win, seeing as how he'll leave again because he has a whole bunch of film projects lined up. Though it'll prove my point that WWE isnt a home for Rock anymore. (Fans are too stupid and he's always being put down for his accomplishments while being hindered because of the PG crap.)
In all honesty, I'm looking forward way more to Jericho/Punk and Rhodes/Show because both matches have main event potential and has had significant build-up.

kinda sad that dc made such a big deal about how they are pushing multicultural heroes with the new 52 and the first 3 books on the chopping block are mister terrific static shock and omac. granted static shock and mister terrific were crappy but still with all the rotating teams that has resulted with their new business model, i figure they would have kept em around to see if they could find something that clicks.
batwing has been the one book that has been amazing, it took the premise of hey look its black batman and gave us compelling characters, great art and a interesting story you actually wanted to buy the next issue to see where it was going.
with cyborg on the justice league and the atom being the Asian ryan choi dc seems to be sticking to their guns for the most part. if nothing else i guess of the first 6 books that dc cancelled we can take solice in that we wont be subjected to any more rob liefeld on hawk and dove.

You can push them, unfortunately you can't make people read 'em. The newly introduced Ray (as in formerly Ray Terril) is now a Korean-American, i believe. Don't expect these characters to disappear though. I have already seen cross-pollinating of ideas across multiple books. Namely the move to have Wildstorm's Daemonites being a major baddie with a number of Wildstorm characters making appearances (not just Grifter, Voodoo, and Stormwatch, Gen13 is being introduced in Superboy). They have invested in story ideas that they can't just drop.
I don't think it's a race issue at all. All of the books that were cut were removed from the lineup due to poor sales. Also, each and every character will still be appearing in various issues throughout the New 52.
^lol truth. To think that they're being removed BECAUSE of the different race thing is just silly. It's a business, supply and demand... and there was no demand here. They tried and they supported it, but it was just stupid to continue with it because no one was buying them

Drunkokay i'm watching some chikara on a fri night, i've acquired as we say from the multiverse(cheap plug for my podcast but fuck it, its my blog so ill pimp my shit if i want to.) all 3 nights of independent wrestling promotion chikara johsimania weekend from earlier this season.
joshimania is its tribute to japanese womens wrestling,also called Joshi Puroresu.
picture wwe and tnas diva division but with a much better work rate and them looking like regular woman and not dirty slews and strippers...yes velvet sky i'm talking about you, i do still love ya through keep letting the pidgins loose.
so chikara decides to bring a lot of the legends from japn over and some of the young workers to compete in a 3 day wrestling weekend, along with the rest of the regular chikara crew witht em both competing in mixed tag matches, and what i really enjoyed upon watching is how hard all the girls were working. and how many less botches they produced then mainstream american wrestling....yes alica fox i'm looking in your direction.
as usual i get side tracked easily and it was off to wikpedia and youtube to see some of these crazy chicks in their prime and regular stomping grounds, and big surprise kharma was there as awesome kong
i guess that is what make kong so awesome, she was just killin bitches left and right womens wrestling needs more of that.
one of the more mind blowing clips i watched was from wwf 1987, i have no idea why i don't remember this match because i was bound to have watched it when i was young. it was for the wwe womens tag team titles. judy martin and leilanie kai vs the Japanese jumping bomb angels,
i guess they were on loan from japan, in the match the japanese team goes full tilt on them in a display that i don't think has been seen since in womans wrestling in wwe. it was like the style was 20 years ahead of its time. around 10 min in the match it seemed like martin and kai basically said fuck it and decided to stop getting their asses kicked and started fighting back. great great match
like many people i think woman's wrestling can be really great when its given its chance to shine, there is a true ton of talent on the indy scene like sara del ray, who so deserves to be on the national stage shes probably the best worker right now in wrestling. but alas we are stuck with kelly kelly doing stink faces and eve's booty shake.

captain america for xbox 360 is a bit of an anomaly. one its a licensed game, 2 its made by sega and based off a marvel property. all these should add up to a horrible game play experience and a quick decent into the bargain bin.
i don’t know how but its the complete opposite its actually pretty good.
set shortly after when the movie ends, firmly still set in world war 2 cap continues his war on hydra with the main bad of the game being arnim zola and his wacky creations.
graphics are good, no noticeable frame rate issues. most of the voices are done by the movies cast with the exception of hugo weaving the red skull himself. game play heavily borrows from the batman arkham asylum. as you fight several baddies at once it feels solid as you hit peope with your shield and throw it to knock down several guys at once.
bosses are challenging but never controller throwing frustrating.
challenge mode levels can be unlocked for replay value.
my only disappointment is you never fight the red skull he does make a appearance but its strange there is no big battle at the end. its a minor thing but it does stick out.In terms of alternate costumes you can unlock the ultimate cap costume and the classic marvel cap outfit as well.
if you are a hardcore marvel fan and need your shield throwing fix its a worthy investment, you might want to wait until it hits the 30 dollar price point, it is a little short and has no multiplayer

I don't know, just looked awfully bland to me, and I like to give movie games a break but this one really didn't have me going more than 'meh' with everything I saw... but, as it goes, if I like the movie I'll probably wind up playing it. Still gotta get around to playing Dark of the Moon and Green Lantern.

As many i was in total shock last night when watching the money in the bank ppv.
never in a million years did i think vince had the balls to fallow through for once and maintain momentum on a already incredible angle.
For so long wwe programing has beome so stale with the same matches over and over, cena goeses super saiyan the last 5 min of the match, stops selling everything and 123 we stuck with the inane cheers of the little jimmys.
but last night that didnt happen. We saw on top of an already amazing card, we saw punk do what he said he was going to do. he beat john cena and walked out of wwe with the world title.
now granted he was probly resigned and will be back to battle cena again but the smartest thing they could do is keep cm punk off tv for like 2-3-4 months. not one mention, he no longer exists in the wwe universe. crown a new champ its only a matter of time before del rio gelts the belt anyways. have punk go to japan with it, go back to roh for a appearence or 2 its smart buisness.
then when punk returns it means something becuase while they may have a new wwe champ.. no one beat punk for it. punk will be the one true peoples champ, let him fight austin at wrestlemania. let him be the star we all need. and by then you never know daniel bryan may want to cash in his money in the bank .
but then again this is wwe were talking about they are just going to fuck it up.

i loved the hell out of clerks 2. it really struck a cord in me and hit close to home, getting older and your best friend moves away and gets married and you don't know what do next, the scene in the end with dante and randall in jail made me break down when i saw it in theaters. my wife was sitting beside me and didn't even look at me she just grabbed my hand and said, i know and she knew why it affected me that way. and also the scene in chasing amy when holden coffesses his love for alyssa in the car in the rain will always make me a kevin smith fan for life.
i dig his podcasts and if he don't want to make movies anymore thats cool with me hes made like 10 more then i ever have so more power to him if he wants to move on. id rather he pick his spots and make one more in like 10 + years after he gets around to hit somebody. if you dont like him, dont listen to his shit. to each their own.

For me, his divaness shows in his twitter rants (I had to stop following him, bc he doesnt shut up) and just listening to the whole speech he gave during the Red State fiasco. It just seemed like he forgot his roots, and the love he gets from Smodcast, and Smod-related stuff, just went straight to his head. But that's just me. I heard him speak at a ComicCon, and I thought he was a really cool guy. This was before Clerks 2 came out, but after that...something changed. I wouldn't mind if he took a break for a little while.
Love Clerks and Clerks 2 though, he writes down-to-earth real stuff.
He talks a lot, but I dont see that as divaness or obsession with himself. Most of the time, if not all the time, he is sticking up for someone who thinks they are clever and hes probably high so he rambles. He definitely hasnt forgotten his roots either. Thats why he is producing and distributing his own movies. Thats independent, those are his roots.
