I gotta say that I wasn't too disappointed with this movie. Sure its not Night, Dawn, or even Day of the Dead, but ti is handled quite well by Romero and brought some good old fashioned zombie mayhem. One thing I hated was the cast who was uninteresting and annoying that it made the movie very hard to sit through even with all the awesome stuff happening around them. With that in mind, the cinema verite aspect of the film was ok and it didn't bother me that much figuring to try something new to the series.
Plot (5/10): I love zombies but the people here ruined it for me. Also, if this was the first night of the outbreak, then that just makes the first film futuristic or something.
Acting (4/10): The students did not impress me one bit and I wanted to see them die so badly. The only ones worth mentioning were the professor, the soldiers, and the Amish guy.
Gore (10/10): Of course, Romero excels in the zombie kills department.
Direction (7/10): The cinema verite aspect was used well with the zombie outbreak.
Eye Candy (7/10): Michelle Morgan was very cute in this movie. I didn't know the blonde chick was the same actress who played Ghost in Ginger Snaps 2.
Overall, it's dissapointing in terms of the characters but the zombie action delivers.

IMO this is a sinfully underrated and misunderstood film.
