A Daft Punk Tribute
I love Daft Punk. I can easily say that Daft Punk was one of my first musical acquirements as a small child. I still remember listening to Around the World and enjoying its simplistic yet catchy beat and chorus. I decided to search for more on this duo and I discovered a treasure cover of great music to listen to. One of the first major influences in my music taste was a song titled Music Sounds Better with You which was produced by Thomas Bangalter who is one half of Daft Punk. Check it out if you haven't yet:
Still remains one of my favorite songs ever. It started my love for house and electronica. I delved into Daft Punk's first album Homework shortly afterwards and I was blown away. I love how despite being a few chosen words and a recycled beat that it still remains fresh and different from most music at that time. Songs like Fresh, Da Funk, Revolution 909, and Phoenix all had a unique sound to them that made them stand out as well as be catchy in their own way.
Discovery is a true gem of an album. It's more disco and pop infleunced then Homework, but it just as catchy. Every song is fantastic and the movie Interstella 5555 is a great companion piece to the music. One More Time, Voyager, and Digital Love are my personal favorites.
Human After All was met with some negative criticisms, bu it is still a good album. The fact that they keep changing with each album is a good thing in my eyes. It has a more robotic sound to it, but it still retains the catchy attribute that most of these songs have.
The Tron Soundtrack is amazing and one of my favorite soundtracks to a movie ever. Great example on a different kind of score from the typical orchestras.
If you haven't checked out Daft Punk or just heard of them in passing, then do yourself a favor and take a listen. One of the most fun and unique musicians out there.
HappyYou should check out the Schoolboy remix of "Da Funk". Best Daft Punk remix I've ever heard.
^I stil remember that ITunes had a remixed Daft Punk album that mysteriously disappeared after a few days.

I'm not a fan of Daft Punk but I like a lot of their songs, Technologic, Around The World and Harder, Better... are all great. As is Music Sounds Better With You, didn't realise the production connection.
