It's solid fare but ur right it's not anything original. The sequel is a total rip off of Halloween 2 but still worth a watch. Aint seen 3. Heard it's shit.
COLD PREY'S pretty damn cool . Great heroine , cool suspense . #2 is a pretty decent time , a bit HALLOWEEN 2 -ish , yes . 3's a dud . goNADSgo69's got some pretty damn decent reviews of 2 + 3 in his Blogs section . A TALE OF TWO SISTERS is very cool , and MARTYRS .....is MARTYRS .(regarding you're earlier update)
Haven't watched A Tale of Two Sisters and Martyrs yet. Probably going to save them for October.
The only one out of the three that I've seen is Martyrs. And I still haven't decided if I liked that movie or not. It certainly sparked a reaction from me which is something that rarely happens anymore with horror movies. A Tale of Two Sisters I've been meaning to watch for some time now. And I've never heard of Cold Prey.
I happened to open my A Tale of Two Sisters and Cold Prey DVD's and was pleasantly surprised to find chapter inserts inside the cases. Didn't realize how much I miss seeing those things.
I have the same happen with many titles. Oh well, Amazon is at least quick about delivery.
My Cinematic Expendables
If you are talking about channels like HBO, Showtime, FX, AMC, etc, its possibly they don't have any new shows. They might just have returning shows.
They have a bunch of listings here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_in_American_television#Programs_debuting_in_2012
Some are even still TBA and might not even make this year
Even better! Live action/cgi form! Though I'm sure pogs will be coming soon.
Here’s the official synopsis for Stephen King’s sequel to The Shining “Doctor Sleep”
Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special twelve-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. On highways across America, a tribe of people called The True Knot travel in search of sustenance. They look harmless—mostly old, lots of polyester, and married to their RVs. But as Dan Torrance knows, and tween Abra Stone learns, The True Knot are quasi-immortal, living off the “steam” that children with the “shining” produce when they are slowly tortured to death.
Haunted by the inhabitants of the Overlook Hotel where he spent one horrific childhood year, Dan has been drifting for decades, desperate to shed his father’s legacy of despair, alcoholism, and violence. Finally, he settles in a New Hampshire town, an AA community that sustains him, and a job at a nursing home where his remnant “shining” power provides the crucial final comfort to the dying. Aided by a prescient cat, he becomes “Doctor Sleep.”
Then Dan meets the evanescent Abra Stone, and it is her spectacular gift, the brightest shining ever seen, that reignites Dan’s own demons and summons him to a battle for Abra’s soul and survival. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted readers of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.
