GREEN LANTERN is one of the worst comic book movies, ever.

I never did notice, until you brought it up, but yeah, the ones who idolize the film don't talk much about the Dent/ Two-Face story, do they? Interesting.
OK, I do entirely agree with the whole "why couldn't Caine bring Leo's kids to him?" thing, but I really liked the characters, so we will disagree there.
I don't know if I would have cutout the ski shootout, shortened it maybe.
I am really glad you love "All the Real Girls", so heartbreaking and beautiful and real. I saw that movie at a very crazy time (relationship-wise) and, man, I don't think there's a better time to watch it. So revealing, so smart, just brilliance all the way around. I put it up there with "When Harry Met Sally" and "500 Days Of Summer" as one of the best films about relationships ever made.
I don't mind the tumbler... what does bother me is how they more or less just plug it in there and make it look impractical (like in BB it has to smash through stuff, etc... but it looks like a big mess of a vehicle whereas what i think they wanted to showcase was that it could survive that type of damage.)
Yeah, the fight scenes are terrible... a slight improvement over BB. No clue what people embrace in these films that they go out of their way to say "ITS AMAZING!!! MASTERPIECE!!!"
Which brings us to INCEPTION. I like the idea of this movie (a dream heist movie with spy elements), but they go a long way to try and ruin it, or undermine the brilliance of that idea. My issues with the Nolan's use of exposition are found here, and they're painful as ever. Its like he doesn't trust his audience will get it if he doesn't have someone explaining everything. Even the ending when they reveal what Cobb did with his wife, Cobb explains the whole fucking thing before we get to put the pieces together ourselves. The whole movie is like that... it even has some awfully cheesy stuff, like his dark secret is found in the basement and you can only get there in this dark rusted elevator. As for the crazy elements, the flipping of the city, etc... it doesn't really come into play again. The action stuff is cool at points but empty. You don't feel anything could actually happen to these guys (even if they make Watanabe's character take a hit). That ski shoot-out could have been deleted and I don't think anyone would miss it. Biggest problems though; I never give a shit about these characters. Cobb has to get his kids? There's the issue that Caine's character could have just brought them to him (no?), but regardless it feels like a superficial plot point here. Marion's character adds a lot of weight to her scenes, but still those just feel like moments and they're lost in the bigger picture. And yeah, the whole Cylian plot - whatever. Was I supposed to care when he cries by his dads bed? Didn't happen... I will say that hallway scene was very cool and realized to perfection. Tom Hardy was very cool in his moments, and I liked the idea of his character (again, lots of cool stuff here). Just the more I think about the movie the worse it gets... I get the impression when I watch it again I'll wind up thinking its much worse than the 6/10 I gave it. And again, people call this thing a masterpiece - what fucking movie are they watching?
ALL THE REAL GIRLS on the other hand is a masterpiece. It takes you through a range of emotions in this beautifully fucked up relationship. Made me sick how real these characters felt, which is a very good thing.
