Getting rid of Mikaela with a throwaway line
For the longest time, I refused to believe that Megan Fox wasn't gonna be in Transformers 3. In fact, it wasn't until I saw the new girl in the trailers that I believed it. And even then I was like "Oh well, the new girl better be good."
And sure enough, I liked her pretty well. She was cool, funny, and hella hot. But what I didn't like was just how quickly they dispatched of Mikaela. All this speculation over what the excuse is gonna be, and all they say is that she dumped him. Really? That's it? The last time these two were together, they were in love, and you're just gonna say she dumped him?
I just think they should've made a bigger deal of this. I know you have to acknowledge that she's gone, but you could've done it in a better and non-clunkier way.

I liked that it was short and sweet, getting her out of the way. At the end of Revenge of the Fallen she and her character were just annoying as all hell... glad she left because of that
