Perfect and captivating. Mickey Rourke embodies his character and elevates this movie from good to mesmerizing in what is probably the single greatest performance in the past year. The scene where he first tries to get closer to his daughter, a vicious Evan Rachel Wood, is one of the most compelling and heartbreaking things I have seen in awhile. Marsia Tomei as a stripper Randy "The Ram" is in love with is quite suitably, and very hot. To see how their relationship plays out is amazing. Arfonsky, restrains himself and it pays off in spades. Simply observing and accepting of all the details of his life, there is no scene not needed or anything that lasts too long.
