Watched Silence of the Lambs on Blu last night. First time I've seen it in about 10 years and it still owns, though having seen Manhunter on Blu the other week, I'm torn as to my favourite Hannibal. Who's yours?

If actor....*Anthony Hopkins*
If movie.... *Hannibal*
P.S.- If you didn't know "Red Dragon" is a remake of "Manhunter".

That's funny. I was just getting ready to post something about Michael Mann, when I saw your post. Manhunter is slightly dated. But, that doesn't change the fact that it is an incredible film. Slightly second only to Silence.

@ironfist - I meant actor, and nice to see some love for teh much maligned Hannibal movie. It gets better with repeat viewings.

And yes, I knew Red Dragon was a remake of Manhunter :-)

Hmmm, mixed opinions about Mother's Day. Rebecca was hot, hot, hot and the rest of the cast were great too, loved the unflinching violence and the overall feel of the movie, but there were just too many little things that jarred (too long - could have trimmed 10 minutes and not missed them, too many logic flaws, and a dumb ending) to make it a great experince. Bottom line - liked it, but didn't love it.

Off to a press screening of Mother's Day tonight. Been hearing good things about this so looking forward to it.

Also, just got the 3 Blu Ray disc Apocalypse Now set through the post to write a review for. It's going to be a real chore sitting through everything on the supplemental disc........ (yes, I am being sarcastic - I can't freakin' wait!)

Phew, been busy, busy, busy (helping set up a fetish club among other things and DJing for 5 hours straight at the first event!) but now back to wreak havoc once more at MFC!

Finally saw Kick Ass at the weekend, and it did exactly what it said on the tin! Loved it!

Watched a ton of movies over Xmas, but standouts were French chiller In Their Sleep, Brit flick Exam, mega flick Inception, brought a tear to my eye flick Toy Story 3 and, surprisingly given what I'd read and heard, The Lovely Bones.

is Exam any good?

Yes - enjoyed it very much. It has similarities to Cube, Fermat's Room and the like but is an entertaining 90 minutes. Well worth a look.

Ahh... I like those types of movies so I will definitely give it a watch thanks :)

Watched The Empire Strikes Back (the SE not the original theatrical - I never can decide between the two) on Saturday for the first time in a few years which was divine, and was then completely blown away by The Orphanage yesterday. Best ghost story I've seen for years.

District 9 - awesome flick, and much more hard hitting than I'd expected it to be. Very impressed.

Had the same reaction. Expected just another alien flick, but it was much, much more. Very emotional movie.

Watched The Psycho Legacy -solid documentary on the series, though not quite in the same league as Never Sleep Again, but still worth a looksee if you're a fan. (And a thank you to our very own John 'Arrow' Fallon in the credits, too!)

Everyone should thank Arrow in their credits, for not killing them.
