that bastard pretty much retired when he was on my Raiders, then all of a sudden is "rejuvenated" on the Pats. Fuck that guy man

He retired as a Titan too. As a GREATans fan, I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I never understand how QUICKLY NFL players go from being at the "top of their game" to literally retiring. Didn't this guy catch a record # of catches a couple of years ago and now NOBODY wants to take a chance on him? (despite the asshole thing) He's friggin' 34!!

@JoBlo - From what I can gather, Moss was looking for a certain dollar amount from a contending (or "soon to be" contending) team, and when he didn't get any bites, he called it quits. I wouldn't be surprised if he changes his mind once training camp really begins and some guys get injured...

I personally think he was waiting for the Jets to take a chance on him, but they gave their WR money to Plax :)

@JoBlo: Mid-30's is generally the breaking point for NFL players when it comes to retirement, unless your a QB or a Kicker/Punter. There have been many exceptions in the past (Jerry Rice was 44 when he finished)

In the case of Moss it didn't help he was known to be a head case and many teams probably didn't want to bother with him. They figured he simply wasn't worth the money and headache.
