Star Trek Into Darkness was 2 hours of non-stop action. Great, entertaining, fun times at the movies. It lived up and expanded on what the first movie built. The cast had the same perfect chemistry and adding Cumberbatch as the villain was pure genius. He was simply brilliant. 9/10 If this and Iron Man 3 are how Summer 2013 starts off its summer season (Great Gatsby...not so much), then we are in for quite a ride! Also, this proves yet again that Benedict Cumberbatch should be in EVERYTHING, all the time!

Well for one I'm a bit of a Canucks fan so I'm on the other side of that rivalry. As good as Kane and Toews are though I don't know, something about them both has turned me off in recent years, it's weird though I can't exactly pinpoint what. Crazy talents though for sure.

ericodarko
ericodarko at 11:52 PM Apr 17

Ah I get why you hate the team but there's no way I can hate those guys. So, how does it feel to have Byfuglien on your Jet, now haha?

Cochise
Cochise at 12:09 AM Apr 18

I was actually pulling for Philly back in the Cup final with the Hawks but like I said they had one of the best rosters of all time then (surprised the series was so tight now that I think about it) but I didn't mind them then, or at least I didn't dislike them like I do now haha. Honestly though I am not a fan of Byfuglien. He's way too lazy and way too carefree on the ice most of the time... he makes dumb decisions, doesn't backcheck at all and rarely uses his immense size and power. Yeah he's got a wicked shot and can dangle when he wants to, but it's like he's the only player in the league that doesn't play into a system and for the longest time it didn't seem like he HAD to, the coach would just let him go and do whatever he wanted, and I mean it worked sometimes but there was more bad than good in my mind. Many non-Winnipeggers seem to think he's just the best though lol. Personally I would be totally OK with him being traded for some more O-line scoring and depth up front. We've got all the D in the system we need with Redmond, Meech, Trouba, Postma on top of the guys we got right now (Bogo, Enstrom, Stuart, Clitsome... screw Hainsey haha). Sorry just realized I rambled on a bit (that's what I do) heh

My Top 10 Movies of 2012

1. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - This was just an exhilarating 2:45 minutes. Epic action-adventure at its best
2. The Dark Knight Rises - Epic conclusion that this trilogy deserved. And slightly obsessed with Bane and that amazing voice of his.
3. Django Unchained - QT doing a bang-up job at making an amazingly entertaining and bloody spaghetti western with just insane performances
4. Skyfall - Everything in it makes it obligatory for this list
5. Argo - This is the best (well, tied with Lincoln) movie of the year
6. Lincoln - Spielberg & Day Lewis = Oscars galore
7. Wreck-It Ralph - It put a huge joyous smile on my face for the whole movie. And Paper Man, the short preceding it, is pure magic
8. The Avengers - Only Whedon could've done the best, purest popcorn film of the year
9. Paranorman - The 9-year old me is going crazy over this movie. Zombies AND animation together? Fantastic
10. A) Cabin in the Woods - Leave it to Whedon and Godard to blow the doors off of the genre and make it hilarious and scary! Biggest surprise of the year
11. B) Amazing Spider-Man - Total fanboy delight for me. And those web-swinging scenes...WOW!
12. C) The Raid - Crazy, crazy, crazy action movie. Still exhausted from watching it haha!
13. Honorable mentions: Rise of the Guardians, This is 40 ,John Carter, 21 Jump Street (Channing Tatum is hilarious? Who knew!), Silver Lining Playbooks (Give Lawrence the Oscar already), Taken 2 (good ol' cheesy fun), Flight (Denzel knocks it out of the park)
14. Haven't see these yet: Zero Dark Thirty, Les Miserables, Jack Reacher, Life of Pi
15. 2012 MVP: John Goodman - everything he did this year was pure gold

@JL we always seem to have many similarities haha! and you have to seek out Lincoln before it's gone. It is vintage Spielberg and definetly one of his best in the past 20 years.
I can't wait to see Zero & Les Miserables. Really, really excited

@Zo! I fucking love his voice and you're 100% right about the eyes. Downright frightening in some scenes

1. Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band - Ottawa 2007 - The first time you see The Boss live has to be your #1 all-time
2. Bruce Springsteen & the Street Band - March 2008 - When you witness Jungleland live, it has to be in your top concerts ever
3. Metallica - Summer Sanitarium with Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Deftones and Mudvayne - I was standing 15 feet from Hetfield. nuff said

6. Bob Dylan - 2007 theater tour - Best sounding concert ever
7. Jason Collett, Zeus & Bahamas - April 2010 - Tiny room, amazing bands (they all played on stage at the same time switching from one band's songs to the other). The habs won in overtime in the playoffs and we got the singer to announce it to the room and everyone went crazy!
8. Radiohead - June 2006 theater tour - They previewed songs from their new album and it was amazing
9. Neil Young with Wilco - 2008 - best arena show ever. beautiful sound

18. Deftones - 2003 - They were at the top of thier game and they had Thursday as the opening band!
19. Franz Ferdinand - 2009 - These guys are amazingly tight live and the music is so much god damn fun!

Very sad to say that I have never seen The Boss.

Dr.Frankenstein
Dr.Frankenstein at 07:52 PM Dec 05

RUSH! and Bob Dylan! (loved his 3 "Christian Era" albums '79-'81 <--- how bizarre?!) Iron Maiden! U and like 3 others Skullbone-Fred and whoever? + probably others here have been fortunate to seen them live. I love Steve Harris' bass playing! back in the 80's it helped me to develop finger speed (+ dig Steve's galloping style). Alot of good ones here.

Thoughts I had while watching the last 30 inutes of Batman Forever

Batman_forever_1995_046
1. Jim Carrey is at the same time perfect as The Riddler and what was wrong with Schumacher Batman movie characters
2. Gotham looks like it was designed to look like Tron after a meth bender
3. I can never understand why the Tommy guns need neons on them
4. So she's cool with Batman just lurking outside her bedroom window in the middle of the night?
5. It takes you 4 riddles over many weeks to realize that The Riddler is the guy called Edward Nigma? And you manage to run a billion dollar enterprise, how?
6. ''Where is that laser ? coming from?'' asks Commissioner Gordon. Well, maybe do some police and look where it's coming from. Or did you not notice the GIANT ISLAND WITH A BRAIN BENDER AND LASER SHOOTING FROM IT JUST OUTSIDE GOTHAM?
7. How did Batman get that Batplane upside on that hook in the batcave? And if the only way to leave the batcave with the Batboat is by jumping down a small cliff, how do you get it back in?
8. Seriosuly, no one noticed this giant island made of metal with a giant fluorescent belnde ron it while it was being built?
9. If you're asking yourself why you never can kill Batman, it's probably because you told Two-Face not to kill him while he was unconscious after you beat him up when you broke into his house.
10. What would Riddler have done if Batman and Alfred hadn't been able to solve those riddles? All this planning for nothing haha
11. So after they figure out that E. Nigma is the Riddler, they know exactly where his secret layer is. Why didn't you go there in the first place?
12. Oh boy, I always forget that at one point Drew Barrymore's carreer was reduced to her being the lingerie-clad assistant to Two-Face and Riddler.
13. You know why Batman and Robin are running in front of that Batsignal at the end of the movie. Well, because they don't have any other mode of transportation for their vigilantism. The Batmobile, Barboat, and Batboat all blew up so they are reduced to jogging to crime scenes!
14. I miss the 90's when every summer blockbuster had these big songs from popular artists on huge soundtracks during the end credits.
15. I hate when i rewatch movies that I loved as a kid only to realize that they were terrible. This one especially!
Terminal_83
Terminal_83 at 04:54 PM Dec 03

14. Oh me too! I miss those days immensely. Every big blockbuster movie had one or two, sometimes THREE, big singles attached to it. Space Jam, Wild Wild West, MIB, MIB 2, TMNT, Dangerous Minds, Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, etc.
