Why do I have this gut feeling that if Abe was told that one day his people would portray him as a patriotic ax-wielding badass...he'd absolutely love the idea.
He did do the full design of the Predator (minus the mandibles which were Cameron's idea).
Movies will never be the same without that man. *sniff*
And although he didn't really design the most of the creatures he helped bring to life, just made them a physical reality, he DID have a hand in designing the Predator when they were having trouble coming up with a look.
