KING Of All Schmoes
Can you believe how fast a year goes by these days folks? I still feel like I posted an article like this only a couple months ago but here we are and ready to go for another awesome year of movies and hotties. I'd say that this year's awards season is by-far my most-anticipated one in a very long time cause there are a ton of great flicks looking to take the spotlight for both the Globes and the Oscars. Today however will be focused entirely on the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards as I will be bringing you some great fun and entertainment this evening that only the staff and fans of MovieHotties.com and JoBlo.com can.
As some of you may remember from last year and for those of you who are new to the site, we launched a live chat-room during the entire Globes broadcast and man was it a riot. Lots of great discussions, debates and everything else we could think of took place and it was just a great time to be had for all. As you can imagine, I'll be keeping the tradition going as starting at 6:30pm EST (3:30pm PST), I'll be hosting a LIVE CHAT ROOM that everyone can join in for both the RED CARPET ARRIVALS as well as the entire AWARDS CEREMONY.
Along with the chat room tonight, we will also be hosting a LIVE VIDEO FEED for anyone to watch if you can't see the event from where you are at the time. The live broadcast begins at 6pm EST (3pm PST) and you can watch the live streaming event in the video player below. With all this great stuff all put together plus the awesome comments of the staff and fans, I think we'll be in for a great night so check back later on today as the coverage and the fun begins. See you then!
Hey my fellow MovieHottie fans,
If you want to see LIVE STREAMING VIDEO from the red carpet of tonight's Oscars, head on over to MovieHotties.com to check it out or click the link below! I'll also be joining my fellow awesome staff members and schmoes during our live blogging session. Enjoy!
Hey ladies and gents,
Just posted some smokin' hot HD screencaps of Zoe Saldana from the brand-new trailer for "THE LOSERS". Head on over to MovieHotties to check them out...can't be missed!
Even if you did find the ceremony a bit disappointing last night, you have to admit that all the actresses that showed up looked hotter than hell! With that in mind, I've posted almost red carpet 170 photos over at MovieHotties and you can check them all out below!
I just announced over at MovieHotties.com that tonight starting at 6pm EST, I'll be hosting a LIVE CHAT ROOM that everyone can join in on to make comments, chat with other schmoes or just have a great laugh as we always do. We'll have the chat room live during the red carpet as well as the official ceremony. Tons of beautiful actresses are expected to attend and we've got some amazing nominees in the bunch as well.
Hope to see a lot of you tonight...we'll have a blast!
I just read some great news that Artie has been discharged from the Jersey hospital he was admitted too after his suicide-attempt which is great to hear. They're not commenting on his condition but I'm sure we'll hear more soon.
Take your time Artie and get better...don't rush into anything. We're pulling for you!
Check out the great photos at the link below everybody!
I'm not sure how many Howard Stern fans are on this site but for those of you out there who know the show and like actor/comedian Artie Lange, I wanted to post this little "get well" wish for him in light of his recent traumatic suicide-attempt during the weekend.
I think Artie is one of the funniest and coolest comedians out there and he's suffered through a lot of personal issues over many years and I wish him a speedy recovery. Love you Artie!
We're currently featuring a LIVE STREAMING VIDEO from the red carpet of the "People's Choice Awards 2010" over at MovieHotties.com. Tons of beautiful ladies are attending and we'll have only the best in red carpet photos posted shortly after the event. Enjoy!
It's your favourite Seth Gecko here and I'm officially joining the MFC community! I couldn't be more excited as it gives me a chance to interact more closely with the fans and provide you guys/gals with even more cool sh#t featuring hot actresses and the movies they star in. Stay tuned for more soon!
I think the big question on everybody's mind right now is why "Grindhouse" didn't do that well on the it's weekend opening. It's a wide debate amongst all of us and I think I know what the problem was.
My thoughts on the whole matter comes down to one simple truth, only the Internet fanbase and Rodriguez/Tarantino fans went to see the movie. The reason for this is because only we knew what the movie was really about and what it represented in cinema. A great example of how this is true can be explained from what happened while my friend and I were waiting for the movie to start last night.
While we were sitting and waiting for the movie to begin, one of the ushers in the theatre came inside and announced to everyone that the movie was 3 hours long. Once she said that, a ton of people in the theatre were totally confused and couldn't believe it was 3 hours. Once she announced that, she also said that when the first film was finished (Planet Terror), she reminded us not to leave the theatre as there was still more afterwards. She said that people were actually leaving the theatre during the credits thinking that it was all finished.
With this all known, it's easy to assume that no one really knew or understood the film to go see it or stay to watch it. It was only the big fans and internet fanboys such as ourselves that really understood what was going on. As well, "Grindhouse" is not the kind of movie that people like to see on Easter weekend as it's a time for cute bunny rabbits and egg hunts. Parents will take their kids to see movies like "Blades of Glory" or anything else and would never give "Grindhouse" a second thought.
My main point is that I think the movie underperformed because it was a bad weekend to release it on. I feel that the only reason that "300" was such a big success is because it was the only major release in it's weekend and there was absolutely no events or anything going on in those few days. Therefore, everyone decided to satisfy their curiosity and see the movie. I think that if "Grindhouse" had been released that weekend, it would have made $70 million as well.
So that's my thought on it everybody. I don't really care how much money the movie made as it has officially entered my cult favourites list.
What do you all think about this?
I wanted to take this moment to thank and congratulate JoBlo and his awesome team for putting together probably the greatest forum on the Internet. They have done a tremendous job on "MyJoBlo.com" and all us schmoes will benefit from it greatly. For that, I thank all of you again.
So to everyone who reads this, give a thank you and a round of applause to the kick-ass team of JoBlo.com and JoBlo himself!
Thanks guys! :D
