Review:

I watched Bereavement (2010) the other night and wow it's one hell of a horror flick. While it is nothing I haven't seen before, story wise, this film is truly one of the most disturbing slashers I've seen, with child torture and brutal murders at it's core, really nasty edge of your seat stuff. The acting is ok, Alexandra Daddario is good and is just gorgeous as fuck in this, man, seeing her in a tiny top is a gift for all mankind. Michael Biehn also stars in a supporting role. Set in rural Pennsylvania, the film has some really nice cinematography, with lots of big, open, secluded places for bad things to happen. This ending and what an ending was a bit confusing, (what happened to kid?) made more sense once i remembered this is a prequel to the Malevolence (2003), I haven't seen that yet. Would it have been better seeing that first? I don't know but looking forward to checking it out. High 6/10

Malevolence is a very low-budget flick but has a solid Texas Chainsaw style mood going for it. The killer in Malevolence is the kid in this one with this being an sort-of origin story for him, not necessary to see first but some backstory does help.

Didn't dig it as much as MALEVOLENCE , but I thought it , and Daddario , were pretty damn cool.
