Last Night's Feature Film... MUD

So I went to see Mud last night with my daughter, for an assignment due today (the assignment was given to us 2 weeks ago), for my Acting & Movement class.

I wasn't really into it because I was kinda hoping our assignment was to watch; Star Trek Into Darkness, the Great Gatsby or maybe Oblivion. But I decided what the hell, I'll go to AMC and watch it because I don't want to be the only one in class who didn't see it.

I have to say, Mud is a really great film. Great story, great script, great acting and with a great cast. The kid, Ellis, who was the lead actor was fantastic in this, I've never seen him before. And his sidekick, who looks freakishly like River Phoenix in Stand By Me, was great as well, as he added humor and support. Matthew McConnaughey's character, who brings and present the weight of the story was fantastic as well.

The Film explored a young teen's struggle with innocence, loyalty, family and love. And I'm glad my daughter was with me, because I know she can relate to the character Ellis (both of them same age, 14).

I came in the theater lazy, and came out "I'm glad I saw this."
