Just imagine though if Beauty and the Beast was exactly the same in every single detail except if Ron Perlman did the voice of the beast. JUST IMAGINE.

Ranking the best films about the Vietnam War

215px-apocnow
1. Apocalypse Now
2. The Deer Hunter
3. Full Metal Jacket
4. Platoon
5. Born on the Fourth of July
6. Actually you know what... I think I'm content to stop at five movies in this list. I really don't want to start reaching and start putting down shit I don't really believe in like "durr We Were Soldiers and some parts of Forest Gump, that's close enough, teehee." No. These five are good. Excellent fucking movies. But yeah Apocalypse now is pretty much the easy number one, there's really no beating it and you can argue it all you want but you're pretty much just being an asshole and being wrong and not recognizing it as one of the finest pieces of cinema to ever grace the screen in the history of the medium. So fuck you. Fuck you and your unique opinion. Apocalypse Now.
7. Also you can judge me if you want for including two Oliver Stone movies but he's a great filmmaker and the guy knows his shit.

That is EXACTLY how I would rank them too. There is no need for more...those definitely are the quintessential Vietnam films.

Have you seen Stone's 'Heaven and Earth'? It came with an Oliver Stone dvd set I bought a few years ago and I still haven't seen it.

Apocalypse Now was one of the first dvds I ever owned and was one of the best experiences I ever had watching a movie.

@Blizz I have seen it, only once actually, and it was pretty good. Not up to snuff with some of the other movies Stone has done but IMO it's worth watching just for Tommy Lee Jones who is great in it.
