You hit the nail on the head with some of the stuff you covered. I liked it. I agree that Dexter is not empty. He may think he is, but his actions - always speak louder than words - prove otherwise. I think he's messed up enough to think he is a monster but he's not. Look at Rita, the kids, Deb - all people he clearly does care about.

I've been to movies where people applauded at the end, but never one where EVERYONE applauded for a considerable length of time.... Until last night. Absolutely incredible. Plus, my first IMAX movie on top of everything.
I loved TDKR but I find the whole idea of a standing ovation or Applauding a film(apart from where the film makers are in attendance) is a little Bat fuck Insane.All you are doing applauding your selves for liking a film.
I was surprised when the IMAX screening I was at was over there was just basically silence and little chatter and then everyone just walked out... I don't know, maybe it was because of the length? but it was pretty quiet/no applause from anyone
lol people was doing that when I was watching The Dark Knight Rises on friday when the movie was playing.

Gonna have to wait an extra day to see TDKR, but will get to see it in IMAX. My first IMAX movie and I couldn't think of better movie to begin with. Had a chance to watch the trilogy at a local theatre, but it's older and sound quality is not so good there. I'll be kicking myself for the decision tomorrow about midnight, but I think it will be worth it.

Watched The Ring for the first time in probably 8 years or so and noticed a major flaw, which I'm sure has been pointed out before, I've just never seen it pointed out.... So, Rachel's investigation into the video takes her to the loft where she finds the drawing of the tree from the inn (hidden behind the wallpaper). She knows immediately that it is the same tree she saw while visiting the inn and they must get back to the inn ASAP to investigate. But if the tree was so significant to her, and she recognized a crude drawing of it immediately, then why could she not recognize the same tree captured on the video??? She was at the Inn when she watched the tape, and the tree was right outside, yet she thinks nothing of it??
I never noticed that but I was shocked the remake was so well reviewed/liked. It's good but compared to the original no where near as scary.
didn't notice that/don't remember that part but I absolutely loved it when it came out. I actually liked it a lot, lot more than the Japanese movie which didn't really work for me... man I think it's time for a rewatch soon, haven't seen it in nearly as long as you Dewey!
There was a lot going on in that video, I bet it was sensory overload and she wasn't really focused on it.

I'm sure this has been mentioned but best buy has all ALIEN films, fight club, xmen, x2, x wolverine, x last stand, taken, last of the Mohicans all for $9.99 and $10 off Prometheus ticket.
@Cochise sorry man, I honestly don't know. I've seen the deal at two stores now but no clue if the deals going on in your neck of the woods. Hope you can find it though, it's a sweet deal.
Good news is, I got the FIGHT CLUB Blu-ray on the way to the theater. Bad news is, you've gotta go online and print out the $10 off coupon.
Aw well, guess that just means I'll have to go watch PROMETHEUS again and use it then!
In more bad news, its only good at certain theatres, but seems like plenty of options near major cities. so most everyone should have a few good options within driving range.

Halloween has a couple of stinkers in the series. I thought Elm Street 4 was awful so I gave up on the franchise. Jaws 3 and 4 are terrible. But each franchise does have some good ones.

Anyone who's seen Piranha 3DD that can let me know if it's worth the VOD price of $8? I'd much rather be heading to the theatre tonight, but apparently that would require a trip to Atlanta... not a short trip for me!

It's got a rad 80's feel to it mate. The budget hurts it but I can't understand how anyone who is a fan of say the early Friday The 13th's could not be a fan of this movie. I thought it was better, tone wise and overall than the first one.
