Wow, I should seek out a bunch of these. I totally want to see The Mask sans CGI

I don't know why I haven't seen Seven Samurai yet: new year's resolution sorted.
Throne of Blood is probably the best Shakespeare film ever, I've heard he did a take on Hamlet too - gonna have to find that film.
@WalkAway - You should give his films a try, at least his samurai ones.
@bigred - I actually despised Dersu Uzala when I first watched it. Chronologically went through his films a couple years back and had a complete reversal and loved every minute. I suppose it's one of those films that's hard to really appreciate when you're younger.
@Natty - That's a very good new years resolution! His take on Hamlet is The Bad Sleep Well, don't think I need to say what I thought of that :).
I bought a crappy transfer of Ran and it all but ruined the experience for me. With Kurosawa, I always get lost the first time around because I get lost watching the visuals and forget I don't know Japanese.
Hells yeah, Dark City is one of the best and under rated movies. It’s the original matrix. Never gets enough props.
I love all the movies you listed, well currently as of 7/20/07, that is! Except have never seen Avalon. Will have to check that out. I love Cronos and is on my wish-list. I could buy it if I stop buying other DVDs and save up for it!
