Just caught The Place Beyond the Pines. Great movie - Cianfrance is surely a director to watch.

nice! Totally agreed, it wasn't a Gosling movie, or a Cooper movie... it was really a director's movie, Cianfrance's movie. Fantastic film!

First great movie of the year: Park's "Stoker". What a great little psycho flick. Great performances, cinematography, and a wonderful score from Clint Mansell. Highly recommended.

I am glad to read the good word on Stoker. Hopefully, the damn movie comes soon to a theatre near here.

Started reading Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman". Through issue #6, I can already say these are shaping up to be my favorite comics ever.

I love the series, though Death, Caine, Lucifer and Destruction are probably my favorite characters.

So I guess the pilot wasn't a fluke. For a network show, The Following is really awesome (and tonight it featured a great scene set to Change by Deftones, can't go wrong with that :D)

Absolutely loved Universal Soldier 4. I was expecting something just as bad as the third part. What I got was a fresh, ultra-violent, very dark, and somewhat weird new entry, that pretty much feels like a reboot.

‎"Looper" is an amazing movie. Smart, fun, entertaining, well acted and well made, but, most importantly, original. I'd say it's the best sci fi since "Moon", but it's not actually sci fi. So I'll just say it's one of the best movies of the year.

Surprised to find out at the end of Dredd that Anthony Dod Mantle was the DP. That explains a lot. The movie looks brilliant.

Kicking off TIFF with "Rust and Bone" tonight, followed by at least 28 more movies. Good times ahead!

Counting the days to TIFF. Next Tuesday at 9 AM I have my window to select movies with the 30 ticket pack I already bought. But I have a list of 80+ I'm interested in. Decisions, decisions.

There's 6 new movies released this week here in Toronto that I wanna see: The Bourne Legacy, The Campaign, Killer Joe, Red Lights, Iron Sky and Ruby Sparks. I just have to figure out what to see first and what to leave for BluRay. Decisions, decisions.

Which would be best on the big screen?

Cochise
Cochise at 01:57 PM Aug 10

^ even though it doesn't have a huge budget I'd say Iron Sky would, followed by Bourne Legacy. Then it's a toss up I think.

See "Killer Joe" first!
