Who is he?
Dori is sort of the "mother hen" to his misfit brother Nori and is youngest brother Ori. Due to this he is entirely pessimistic and often chases after them like a guardian would, always making sure they "eat their greens" and are properly taken care of. He takes good care of himself with his ridiculously braided beard and love of "finer wines and foods" over beer and meat. However despite that he is actually the strongest dwarf in the company when it comes to Tolkien's novel and he showcases that a bit in the first film's finale.
What we can expect in The Desolation of Smaug
I think we can expect some more screen time from him since he essentially said two lines in the entirety of the first movie and we'll hopefully get his brute strength on screen. In the books he has a key scene with the Mirkwood spiders and the escape down the river where he uses his strength to the group's advantage so we should expect more of that.
Oh, and if Mark Hadlow has his way there will be lots of skipping, cuddling and hugging of the dwarves.

As Vamp stood gobsmacked at Erico's miraculous recovery, Terminal, G-Funk and jeo4 came running towards the shot, all of them surprised to see erico up and about.
ericodarko (croaked): Sorry for scaring you, should've said something.
Terminal: Jesus erico, why didn't you tell anyone?
ericodarko (croaked): Was a little woozy when I woke up, thought I was still at Central snuck out here and realised where I was. Found Vamp's gun by the door, figured I'd get to practising again.
G-Funk: How do you feel son?
ericodarko: Been better dad, but I can walk and I can shoot. Something I guess. What's up with my voice.
G-Funk: The bullet did a number on you, most likely you'll have that voice for a few weeks, but it'll pass eventually. I think we should take you back, check for any underlying damage, I don't want you doing anymore than absolutely necessary.
ericodarko: Sure thing. (to Vamp) Here, sorry I took it.
Vampjezzc took her rifle back.
Vampjezzc: No problem, glad to have you back.
jeo4: You alright Term, you seem lost.
Terminal: What? No I was just thinking stuff over, round up everyone, I want a meeting in the lunch hall, there's something we need to talk about.
Critical and WalkAway were helping MrsData clean up the operating table where G-Funk patched up cereakiller, quidditchmom and Threat Poet stockpiling the medicine they found in the mall just before they were kidnapped.
WalkAway: I never thanked you did I? For saving me.
MrsData: It's fine, it was all I could do to help out.
Critical: But still you put yourself at risk to help us, they would've killed you if we were caught.
MrsData: They would've killed all of us, either way I was getting out of Central.
WalkAway: Still, thank you, whatever you need here I'll help out anyway I can.
Critical: Same here.
WalkAway and Critical share a quick kiss while WalkAway packed away some boxes.
MrsData: You two are sweet together, I can tell you love her.
Critical: I do, with all my heart I do.
MrsData: And she's a bit fond of you as well.
The two of them laugh quietly together.
MrsData: You think about marrying her?
Critical: Honestly? Yeah, I know it's stupid because of the world we live in now but I have thought about it.
MrsData: The fact that you were completely unfazed by my question is a good sign, and don't think it's stupid, sometimes we could all use something happy to brighten up the day. Hope is a good thing to have these days.
Critical mulled over MrsData's words as a smile grew across his face.
Across the room the other couple weren't doing as good.
Threat: You should really have the doc check that out.
quidditchmom: How many times, I'm fine.
Threat: Fine? You're missing an ear, how can that not be something to worry about.
quidditchmom: Will you just fuckin back off?
Threat: I'm just looking out for you.
quidditchmom: Well I never asked you to.
Before Threat could reply erico and G-Funk walked in, WalkAway jogged over to her brother and hugged him gently.
WalkAway: It's so great to see you up again.
ericodarko: Thank you. I'm glad you're alright Walks, after that sick bastard got you I was afraid...
WalkAway: Forget it, you saved me, we escaped free and you're alive. We're all good.
G-Funk: Maybe not, Terminal's calling a meeting in the lunch-hall, says he wants to talk something over. No idea what but I think it'll be important.
The group all gathered in the lunch-hall, ready and interested in what Terminal had to say. As people found their seats Critical sat next to John.
Critical: Hey man, sorry about earlier.
John: No worries, I got it.
Critical: Where's your brother now?
John: Put him in a cell out the way, he wasn't happy but it's not up for debate.
Terminal: Ok, first off I want to thank all of you for risking your lives to save us, I think I speak for John, quidditchmom and myself when I say that we are truly grateful for what you did. I might have just been three days but it was a lifetime thinking I would never see my family again, worrying if this was the end.
Terminal touched the stump where his hand use to be, gently stroking it, as if remembering.
Terminal: We hit Central hard, they hurt us more than once but we got them. The Governor is not likely to let us down easily, he'll want to find us, torture us and kill us. But we have the advantage, we know where he lives, he doesn't know about us. We have the upper hand... and we're not going to use it.
A sea of confusion washed over the group, they murmured amongst each other, wondering where Terminal was going.
Terminal: I've thought about this ever since we left Central, and I've decided that we're not going to fight back.
Critical: Are you crazy?
Terminal: I gave this a lot of thought and I've come to the conclusion that we'd be better off leaving it. We disappear form Nite Owl's radar, he never finds us, we never go looking for him. We're not going to war, that's what I realised as I watched you all fight to save us. Survival isn't about being warriors, war gets you killed. If we want to survive we have to be nothing more than civilians, regular folk getting by. That's what I want, for me, my family, my children.
quidditchmom: You really think that bastard is going to let you walk away, just forget you?
MrsData: She's right Term, I worked with him for months, he's psychotic, he won't stop looking.
Terminal: Everyone stops looking eventually, he can't look forever.
Critical: What happens when he finds us, what happens when he's at our front door, armed to the teeth and we've got fucking plastic forks to throw at him, what then?
ericodarko: Terminal's right.
Everyone looked at the weezing erico, his hand still clutched to his neck.
erico: He's right, we can't go to war, it's not for us, we're not fighters. We're a cop, some farmers, a lawyer, a football player, a pizza delivery boy and some odd jobs here and there, none of us have been trained to fight. If we want to survive, we keep our heads down and survive.
Terminal: Thank you, I know this doesn't come as well to most of you but it's the choice I've made and I hope you can all respect that. We'll talk more in the morning.
erico lay on the hospital bed, his body hooked up to several machines, his sister WalkAway sat next to him.
ericodarko: Dad's a little crazy about this don't you think?
WalkAway: It's just a precaution, you took a bullet to the neck, if you fall asleep we want to make sure you wake up again.
ericodarko: We never heard what you thought, about what term said. You want to fight or farm?
WalkAway: I thought I wanted to fight, but the more I think about it, the more I just want to stay quiet and just live, like back home, you, me, dad, mom, thatswhatshesaid, Shawn. A simpler life away from killing and stealing.
ericodarko: What was that song thatswhatshesaid loved, sing it to me, please.
ericodarko: I know, I miss her too. I just want to hear her song again.
WalkAway smiled softly at her brother and stroked his face gently.
WalkAway (singing softly): I am nothing without, pretend I know my thoughts can't live with them. I am nothing without a man, I know my thoughts but I can't hide them.
Above them, Terminal stood at the upstairs guard rail and listened to her singing.
WalkAway: I still keep my baby teeth in the bedside table with my jewellery. You still sleep in the bed with me my jewellery and my baby teeth.
Batgirl: She's got a lovely voice, should get her to sing for the baby.
Terminal joined his wife in their bed.
Terminal: You should ask her.
Batgirl: I will.
Terminal: Do you think I made the right choice today?
Batgirl: I think you made the best choice for us, the one that means we survive. I thought I lost you out there...
She cups his stump.
Batgirl:...In a way I did but we're together now and whatever choice you make I'll stand behind you because I know you're doing it for us, you me, Riddle and Danika.
Batgirl: The baby, I'm kinda hoping for a girl this time.
Terminal: Danika? I like it.
Holding each other, the couple fell asleep as WalkAway's voice carried through the prison halls.
