Sam Mendes was a similar out-there choice to direct Skyfall so for Bond 24 I would loooove to see Tom Hooper in the director's chair. That would be amazing and would have me through the roof excited. Plus he's British.

haha this looks like so much fun. Badass and funny. Asian cinema can be so unique and awesome, love it!

The screencap got my attention...then I saw the actual shot it was from. Is Li trying to do a Jackie Chan movie?

Cochise
Cochise at 03:53 PM May 03

^ it's an action comedy it seems, and it's not the first Jet has done. I'm a huge fan, and glad he's doing something a little lighter, yet still badass, again. Cool to see especially after a fantastic dramatic performance in the great and underrated Ocean Heaven a year or two ago.

Top 5 choices to direct Star Trek 3 (if Abrams is out)

Karl-urban-in-the-chronicles-of-riddick-2004-movie-image
1. Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion, Tron Legacy)
2. David Twohy (The Arrival, The Chronicles of Riddick, Pitch Black)
3. Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Zathura, Iron Man 2, Cowboys & Aliens)
4. Rian Johnson (Looper)
5. Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code)
6. special mention: Joe Johnston (did you see all the lens flares in Captain America?)

this could be a blast. I like the more over the top edge and the comedic injections, gives it a fresh vibe. The movie itself, the action and the effects already look guaranteed to better than Olympus Has Fallen

Marvel has the rights to The Punisher back... come on Marvel, we know you pay attention to what the fans say, give us Tom Jane as The Punisher again! Seriously it doesn't have to be and shouldn't be a part of the MCU... strike a deal with HBO or something and give it a series, Tom Jane is already experienced with HBO with 'Hung' and it could be a perfect fit!

I'd rather see a Daredevil reboot

brewsky99
brewsky99 at 03:33 PM May 03

Isn't there a network show in development (with major changes to the character that he is nothing like the punisher we know and love)

tbondrage99
tbondrage99 at 05:53 PM May 03

I'm torn, as much as I love Jane as The Punisher I loved Stevenson just as much, maybe more. Stevenson just ended up being in the shittier movie but I think his characterization of Frank Castle was truer to his comic book counterpart then Janes. Its obvious that Jane loves the character but Stevenson seems to like him a lot to and there is no doubt that Stevenson would sign a multipicture deal for much cheaper then Jane would which is something Marvel is pretty notorious for wanting.

That Ottawa Senator hit on the Montreal Canadians' Lars Eller was 100% clean and should not be suspended. I would say the same if it were the same hit on the Jets or the Leafs. A fantastic hit with an unfortunate result in the injury. The blame should not be put on the hitter though, he did nothing wrong, the blame should be put on that incredible dumb ass Montreal defenceman that made that ridiculous suicide pass. Are you kidding me? Best wishes to Eller, hope he gets a speedy and successful recovery.

never throw long passes up the middle- unless maybe you are ensuring a breakaway or a 2 on 1-

wait there isn't even a single AC/DC tune in Iron Man 3? That just seems so... wrong
Jack The Narrator
Jack The Narrator at 02:21 AM May 02

Probably a directorial choice, if anything. But yeah, it's a little dissapointing nonethless.

Cochise
Cochise at 03:54 AM May 02

^ yeah I bet so too, and I'm not even that big of an AC/DC fan I just think it's a big part of the character and the franchise as a whole -- a little AC/DC is like Iron Man's theme music. Hell they even included it in The Avengers lol

I've seen a bunch of shows with criminals and 'bad guys' in the lead role, but I don't think I've ever seen a show like Breaking Bad where the main character, the protagonist... is a totally unlikable prick with no redeeming parts to his character. I mean initially he was alright, he straddled the line, it was cool -- I could like him even though I didn't like some of his actions. But now... well actually for like 90% of the episodes he's just a despicable character. Maybe that was the point of the character, and it does make the show unique, but I'm not really a fan of having the show based around a character that is just a total dick. I mean there's nothing about him to like... like really, is anyone like 'you go Walter, you da man!'
OldKingClancy
OldKingClancy at 05:11 AM May 02

I lke the fact that Walt is becoming the bad guy, it is unique and watching the change from science teacher who took three episodes to kill one guy to meth dealer that drops bodies like a motherfucker is a surprising one to watch going through the series for the first time. Besides it's not just Walt's story, there's also Jesse and Hank and how Walt's change is affecting them. We'll just have to see the endgame and Walt's inevitable downfall and possible arrest/death to see where the show is going.

Glinda
Glinda at 05:49 PM May 02

I cannot stand Walt. I would have liked them to have kept something humanizing about him at least with his family but he's cruel to Skyler and even Walt, Jr a time or two. I agree that Heisenberg has taken over. He treats Jesse with absolutely no respect, something even badass gangsters know is necessary to get your best work out of someone and to get them to care and have respect for you and the cause. There's nothing left about him for me to care about at all.

Cochise
Cochise at 01:18 AM May 03

^ agreed Glinda. He's just irredeemable at this point I think.

Reimer sucks (SURPRISE), Fraser is getting paid by Boston (why is he not benched?), our tough guys aren't being rough, none of the D are even playing solid defensively nevermind breaking out well or chipping in offensively, bad shift changes (partially to be blamed on Coach Carlyle with his strict line matching that is doing the opposite of working), everyone's turning it over up the wazoo... christ almighty this is about the most embarrassingly bad the Leafs could've played. MAJOR changes need to be made in game 2. The Boston fans really need to get their shit together though, their team is dominating in the Stanley Cup playoffs and with 3 minutes left in the game in their home arena... half of those in attendance abandon their team and leave the game. Really? Pretty sad and another notch on the Boston-fans-are-the-worst counter. But hey at least their team didn't play like the Edmonton Oilers

Cochise at 01:35 AM May 02

I think Kipper's retiring this offseason. If he's not, he'll be staying in Calgary (though I don't see why he'd want to at this point). The Leafs do need a #1 goalie though, and Luongo could be that one... but, he may be too expensive still. Maybe Vancouver's GM will lower the asking price though after not being able to get him traded, I hope so. Other possibilities are Tim Thomas and Ryan Miller, Miller could be good. Jonathan Bernier could very well be a starter (he's behind Quick right now in LA). Ray Emery could be a cheaper short term fix along with Tim Thomas, but I still don't think Reimer will ever shape up into a star #1 goalie so I think going big is the only choice, Miller or Luongo. Bernier could be the best choice though, he's got a lot more skill and potential than Reimer or Scrivens but while he isn't currently at Miller or Luongo's level he will come considerably cheaper I imagine (which is key I think if they are demanding Kadri, Bozak, Lupul or someone else, which I don't think they can afford to lose even if they get a Luongo in return).

Rough night for Leaf fans, sorry Coch...

as for a number 1 you guys should go and throw cash at Smith,

he wont resign with Phoenix he doesnt like the situation the club is in with locations and moving. He's young, big, and a good goalie.

ORRR Get your GM Nonis to make a call and talk to the owner of Vancouver, and when no one is going to take Bobby, and they have to buy him out, he should say we will take him for free lol

but no seriously thats what id do if i was Nonis ^ or go after Smith HARD!

Cochise
Cochise at 03:59 AM May 02

yeah Smith is a good choice too, never even though of that! He's another possibility and wouldn't be as pricey as either Luongo or Miller. Personally I think the best choice would be to go with Bernier though, but again who knows what would happen. He has played fantastic, but he hasn't been fully tested in a starter role so last thing you would want is another goalie pickup dud... either way they NEED to get one of these guys, and I think it needs to be Luongo, Miller or Smith... but again Bernier could work really well, it's just more of a risky move with a more unproven goalie... again though, if it was him AND we didn't have to give up and of our key offensive talent (Kessel, Bozak, Lupul, Kadri, Grabovski) then I'd be down as hell, maybe even moreso than if we got Lu but had to give up some of them.

the star of that recent 42 baseball movie about Jackie Robinson, Chadwick Boseman, is now apparently the favourite to get the role of Marvel's Black Panther character. I haven't seen 42 but don't really have any interest, maybe if I did he'd change my mind but I would much much much rather see Djimon Hounsou get the gig... honestly if he didn't I probably wouldn't be interested in the Black Panther movie
tbondrage99
tbondrage99 at 05:17 PM May 01

Agreed I've been wanting to see Hounsou cast as Black Panther for years. I know Wesley Snipes has been campaigning for the role since around Blade 2 as well but I don't think hes going to have much luck with that.

X-KID
X-KID at 08:02 PM May 01

yeah, I'm not interested in seeing 42 either but he must be a good actor since he's being eyed for the role, but I would really like to see Idris Elba take on the role.

XSsoCX
XSsoCX at 12:02 AM May 02

I think Djimon Hounsou is to old to play T'Challa. Boseman would be a great casting, I hope he gets it.
