Great list Cochise, I love that you included the videos. My favorite has been The Hobbit but now I'm loving Cloud Atlas too so maybe a tie for first.

Awesome list. I didn't know if anyone in here liked Trent Reznor and the works he does. NIN are a pretty big influence on my favorite band so I respect the music.

What, are you one of those people who believe Carradine is fighting terrorists with Bruce Lee in some covert team? You know Carradine didn't actually know martial arts right?
^ alright you lost me, what are you talking about? I'm sure the actor who played Kyuzo in the original movie didn't know martial arts either... that Kung Fu tv show or whatever has nothing to do with why I chose Carradine. I never even saw that show actually :s

These are the first ones I'd hit.
9, 12, 23, 29, 37, 45, 49, 50, 52, 56, 57, 62, and of course, 78.
Enjoy!
Had another look through the list, see if any stood out for me. Out of all of them I'd recommend Glengarry Glen Ross, City Of God, Unforgiven, The Wild Bunch and Once Upon A Time In The West. And yes I do have a thing for westerns.

Djimon would be a great Kratos, I'm more for Brad Pitt as Marston but Paxton's a good choice, not sure on Worthington as Cole. Good list though.
Not really a gamer, but from the little I know of these games, I'd say they'd make pretty interesting films.
Twisted Metal Death Race was the movie that reminded me about that game.

The Spirit, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Ghost Rider can be good experiences, maybe, if viewed in the right spirit. The Spirit and Captain America take some retro aesthetic. Otherwise, they seem hokey.
Jonah Hex needed to be R-rated. Make the movie more violent and gritty; make it a better movie.
Catwoman and Elektra are a shame. The superhero genre needs a good movie with a superheroine protagonist. But, the genre has not gotten that good movie yet.
The Amazing Spider-Man insults the audience's intelligence too often. The Amazing Spider-Man changes the character too much too often.
The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, Punisher: War Zone, and Men in Black II were okay. But, they needed to be much better. Fans expected more of MiB's follow-up. They hoped for more from a Punisher movie actually set in the canon.
Dude, say what you will about those others, but ASM and CAP were entertaining films.

Great selections. I still have to check out life of pi, cosmopolis and perks
Great choices. I haven't seen all but I agree with all those I have seen. I love that you have Paul Dano/Being Flynn.
Good picks, Phoenix was one of my top picks for the year and Neeson is always great. Haven't seen Playbook yet but with both Cooper and Lawrence here my anticipation grows.

Rocky made the list. The Warriors got remembered. You are one righteous dude, man. Especially Rocky inspired a generation and generations after.

KINGS / BLUES would be an awesome series , as long as Elliot keeps up his recent strong goaltending . I can see the JETS taking down the ISLES , and it would be an extremely fun series to see . They always say goaltending wins championships (speaking as a former goalie , I have to agree ) and the JETS have the edge in goal . Nice Work My Man !!

Definitely Curry, Hinds (he's on GoT now too), Oldman, Waltz - well everybody on your list but I'm not a huge fan of Lithgow he's the only one I'd rather not see.
^I think that's the thing with Lithgow most people probably wouldn't think he would be that good a villain. But then you might not think of Red Forman being a good villain either but he was really badass in Robocop one of the best of all time. I think Lithgow can do that same thing. People would just assume he wouldn't but I bet he would have this kinda silent under the radar evil bastard thing.
Nice list bud,
Id like to see Tim Roth take that roll. Id say Gary Oldman, but to be honest I'm holding out for him to be a Bond Villain.

Jack Reacher, Snow, Griffin and Dr. King Schultz are on definelty some of my faves as well. I really loved Forest Bondurant & Maggie Beufort in LAWLESS, David in PROMETHEUS, Schimdt & Jenko in 21 JUMP SREET, Ravenna in SNOW WHITE & THE HUNSTMAN, Jamarcus in THE WATCH, Cheryl in THE SESSIONS, John Ottway in THE GREY, Lester Siegel in ARGO, Marty & Dana in THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, and Hans in SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS. Also very happy to see Bofur get a special mention.
^ nice! I loved all three of the Bondurant brothers! Loved both David and Shaw in Prometheus, Schmidt and Jenko and Jamarcus too! and Ottway and Hans almost made my list! Great and fun characters for sure

Epic! Just been listening to the neverending story ST love it.
awesome list.
Love this list. The Goonies I've not even watched in 15 years and to hear music brought it back. Same with The Neverending Story. So nice to see The King's Speech I love that one too. So many good ones. Toy Story is probably my favorite you just have to smile!

Your right Cochise. 100% bro and I agree with a lot you say. But maybe im that biased dick. But man part 1 was jesus himself. But part II that was god. in my eyes. and that dont mean shit to others. Your the man Cochise. but damnit part II is AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! lol
Now I'm glad I didn't end up seeing Dracula. I love 1 and 2! The Outsiders I liked - although I remember at the time thinking the book had been better but the cast was great. All the crushes of the day in one movie was fun at the time.
@Raging - nah man it's all good, if you love it then that's awesome -- the only one missing out is me! haha, again I wish I loved it but some things just held it back for me. Still I wouldn't call it bad and I don't dislike it or anything like that... but as a fellow proud fanboy of mafia/mob/gangster/crime movies I do feel bad, like it's blasphemous or something lol, everytime I think about how I don't love Part II like I should haha, but it is what it is.
@Glinda - Well I do think that most people enjoyed Dracula, but I myself just was shocked by how disappointing and just plain bad it was. And this is coming from a Keanu Reeves fan haha, but just the movie itself I thought was really weak. A fantastic cast though, but yeah... definitely one that rubbed me the wrong way and was a pain to sit through for me. But again I believe most did like it so maybe it would be worth a watch if you were interested in it, just sayin. Outsiders was fun, I haven't seen it in forever though but I too read and loved the book first. Just a crazy, crazy cast though for sure.

^ yeah it was the Burton/Depp one. Alice was always surprising to me too, I don't get the draw factor of it especially compared to Burton's other movies. Like if Alice made that much why didn't Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which looked and was a hell of a lot better I thought. Ah well though. I absolutely LOVE the ending of Toy Story 3, so sad... and I really dig the opening to. But honestly I absolutely did not like the meat of the movie at all. I just personally thought it was so disappointing and lame. Love TS2 though, and the original is one of my all time faves.
Hey did you see Titanic when they re-released it in IMAX a year or so ago? Still bummed I missed that, I heard the conversion was awesome (seeing the trailer in IMAX 3D certainly was so I could imagine)
I don't get the draw to Alice at all. I hated it! I would have thought Charlie would have done better too. I wasn't wild about it but I did like it and it was fun. So much better than Alice.
I loved the ending of Toy Story 3 as well, and the very beginning, but it was sad for me overall with Andy leaving home, and the middle parts I thought were creepy. I hated that bear and not in a "love to hate" way. Just a hate way. He wasn't a fun villain to me. That said, I could never truly not like a Toy Story because I love all of our favorite characters, and my favorite part is the Ken/Barbie scene when he's modeling his clothes. lmao I love that.
I missed the Titanic too when it came last year! It wasn't playing at my close theater and I never made the drive. I wish I would have now, it would have been worth it. I can't believe I didn't. It was awesome enough as it was, so IMAX would have been so much better. That's an IMAX movie if there ever was one.

I've seen every movie on this list except Get Shorty or Men in Black III. Honestly, I didn't hate RV but I was really young when I saw it. Wasn't crazy about For Love or Money. Love Big Trouble. You should see The Addams Family movies whenever you get the chance.
I have't seen the Adams Family movies either! I did love the tv show as a kid (not the cartoon but the first original one, with Sean Astin's dad playing Gomez can't think of his name).
So the movies were actually that good?
^ I think you're thinking of John Astin. Never seen the show or the cartoon but I know that because of the internet. lol And about the movies, they're fun to watch. I like Addams Family Values better and it was also the one I watched the most as a kid. Joan Cusack's in that one and she marries Uncle Fester and tries to kill him to get his money. Also, the kids Wednesday and Pugsley get sent to a camp, which was always my favorite part of the movie.

This is an awesome list. I love them all that I've seen but have not seen 20, 16, 12 and 6 yet. The NeverEnding Story is fantastic!

Awesome list! Every movie on here is fantastic. He's my favorite director by far I love all of his movies and diverse he definitely is.
There's also the one about the semi, (Duel), but not sure if that's a whole separate category worth mentioning or not? The movie was only a tv movie originally I think but I could be wrong.
^ ah cool! I've actually never heard of that one til now... the man makes semi-truck movies too! haha. I'm really not sure if there's a more diverse director out there!
I had not heard of it either until I was watching "The Making of Jaws" a few years ago. Duel was I think his very first movie. He was saying that when the semi truck in the movie goes over a cliff and crashes to the ground he used sounds from a 50s era Godzilla movie (one of those monsters type movies), for the sounds of the truck falling apart hitting the rocks below. He then used the same sounds in Jaws after the shark was blown up and is falling to the ocean floor. He might have used them in Jurassic too or maybe I'm dreaming that part.
If I have this all wrong I apologize to anybody who knows how it went. When he was given the job to direct Jaws, he read the book and drew many parallels from Duel, since in Duel a guy was being chased by a semi truck and in Jaws it was a shark. Another parallel was that they both had four letters in the title. He said he was young and stupid and that came to his mind as a positive thing. He's so personable in those interviews I just want to hug the guy. Or marry him preferably, whatever. :)

#3, I agree and its a Speilberg movie so you know there are a ton of making of features already made somewhere from when the movie was being made.
#9 Maybe if George Lucas owned it.

^ I only listed the ones I've seen man. The Dead Zone, The Brood, Spider, Dead Ringers, Crash, M Butterfly, They Came From Within... I really want to check all of them out asap, TDZ would probably be next up when I find the time though!

Based on a list by Kevin Smith fan
What? Where is MAN ON THE MOON? Seems everyone looks over that one! It's (in my opinion) one of Jim Carrey's best performances! Otherwise, nice list and with Jim in the lead!
Nice list, although Despicable Me would be ranked higher for me, along with a few others.
@jm - haven't seen it man! Been really wanting to get around to that one forever but just haven't had the chance... all the others n not listed are ones I haven't seen as well.

Based on a list by Terror Australis

#12 Legend of Drunken Master merits mention. The film is kick-ass throughout, and it has some humor and heart. Then, the final fight scene is twenty-three minutes or something like that. I love watching Legend of Drunken Master. Chan did himself real proud.
Do you know another good Jackie Chan movie? Mr. Nice Guy. It is not a classic. But, a person enjoys it thoroughly.

Sweet list! WATERWORLD, JURASSIC PARK, RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES...good stuff!!!

@Frosty - he's so close to being on here for me! Loved Looper and I thought Brick was solid, definitely looking forward to what he gives us next!
@Random - lol I know, I only mentioned the ones I actually liked aka the reasons why they are my favourites. I haven't seen Stardust and Young Adult but the rest I didn't list are because I wasn't too hot on them and they aren't really a reason why I like these guys.
This is a great list and I love so many on here, specifically 1/2/4/7/9/10 oh hell, all of them basically.

Based on a list by horrorfan23
Wow Rebecca! I love it, so nice to see it on your list. Great list, I really think the Academy does get it right most of the time. Not all, but most.
^ actually just saw that one a few weeks ago, I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Only thing I didn't really like was that I thought the ending kind of went on a bit too long, but still great acting and direction throughout!

3. Paperman was great!
5. Out of the 5 nominees, I have only seen Django and Skyfall and thought Skyfall looked beautiful.
11. I'm really intrigued to see "Curfew" by reading its synopsis. It's avaible to buy on iTunes for $1.99! Henry isn't bad, but nothing out of the ordinary.
17. Really fucking weird that the orchestra is not in the house!
20. I would guess Ted was CGI. When they introduced him and Whalberg, you could see Bradley Cooper turning his head as if he was looking at a monitor to see the rendered effect.
27. They could have found much better than Stewart...
29. What's up with Hal Needham? I looked him up and found out that QT introduced him to a lifetime award recently. Is there something more linking the two men together or is that just it?
31. Yeah, no claps before it is over.
38. I actually liked the one joke near the end when he talked about Quvenzhané Wallis being 9 years old and Emmanuelle Riva being 9 years old when the show started.
I really enjoyed reading this Cochise. It was funny and really interesting and informative as I didn't really watch but wanted highlights. I loved the play by play how your typed what was in your head at the moment and then on occasion changed your mind, lol. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I love quite a few on here but Pearl Harbor and Serendipity are my favorites.

Based on a list by JohnLocke2342
@Fred - I don't have it either... I don't think they've even released it on blu yet for some reason, I've been wanting to pick it up forever but I don't think there's even a release date... I hope they're not waiting for BB3 to release the second on blu

This is a fantastic list! The only one I didn't like/love was Click. I love that you have 50 First Dates on your list. I recently discovered I have 3 DVDs of that for some odd reason I keep re buying it. Love it. Zack and Miri, love. Meet the Parents hilarious, The Wedding Singer makes my heart melt.
I'll stop myself I could go through them all.
Big, Groundhog Day, and Zack and Miri are rom-coms that anyone can like. You compose an impressive list here.
Awesome list dude!
Totally agree with 3, 9, 10, 11, 21, 22, 24, 26, 27, 31, 42 and 43, 44, 45, 48 and 49!
Not hating but 23 Thor over Iron Man, I did enjoy Thor, Iron Man just comes across stronger. and 28 Rambo III over First Blood and Rambo IV?

Based on a list by walkingdeadlover
@Exo - Reynolds is pretty built and has shown he can get huge... don't really see why he would need to be though anyway, same thing with Flash -- the smaller thing for Flash makes more sense to me actually... JGL as Batman, yeah he isn't the size Bale was as Batman at the moment but I guarantee you JGL would be able to go through a similar muscle building process and would be dedicated as all hell for it. I mean look at Bale before he took the role, I don't think you can get skinnier than that lol. I want to see Reynolds return as Green Lantern myself, I thought he was solid in the role and deserves another outing as well as an appearance in the JL movie. I don't think they should just rush and recast/reboot the franchise. It may have not been a smash hit but Reynolds is already a building block they have in place, I think it'd be best for them to keep it there and then a few movies down the line have him pass the torch to the next human Green Lantern, Jon Stewart or whoever. But that's just me, who knows what they're actually gonna do.
@JL - haha no worries duder, not at all. I just picture JGL packing on a ton of weight/muscle just as Bale did and really physically maturing. I don't know, I can just totally see that myself. Of course it would be a new take on the character with him in the role but I think that's kind of needed (and personally *TDKR spoilers* I'm still kind of hopeful we see the continuation of his character in TDKR... whether he takes the Robin moniker or Batman, or he's mistaken for Batman, or he's Nightwing... whatever he wants to be called -- I just think it'd be cool connective tissue and great to see... again I don't know I know some will disagree but I just reeeeeeally want to see something come of the tease haha)

Alright I've made a slight change to this list... I've removed 10 Things I Hate About You and replaced it with King Kong, more than anything because I'm trying to make this list my favourite non-romcom romantic movies.

Based on a list by Kevin Smith fan
Awesome list! I've not seen Cop Land and still not seen Looper, so need to get to seeing those.
I love the pic of the three of them up top.

Wow shocked to see how far apart Kill Bill vol. 1 & 2 are from one another. Makes me wonder where it would be on your list if they were combined like he had originally planned. Reservoir Dogs is at the top of my Tarantino list as well.

I'm excited to see the 17 deleted minutes from The Master, because apparently they fix everything
^ I think I would like the score if I just listened to it by itself, but it just didn't fit within the movie or mesh with it at all for me. It was the one big negative of TWBB for me personally.
Didn't know that about The Master... are they releasing a new cut or is it just deleted scenes?

Based on a list by walkingdeadlover
I love the gif, Cochise. And, I love that Darth Maul gets mentioned. Basically, Maul has but one movie, and he has almost no dialogue. But, he is so kick-ass that everyone remembers him and that people like Stewie Griffin want to be him.

Based on a list by JohnLocke2342
'Our Idiot Brother' really good. Definitely one of my favourites of 2011 too.
Based on a list by OldKingClancy
I love this list, in fact I ordered King Animal cd off Amazon. I hope it's here by Monday. My favorite of all these is Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye. Such a sad song yet beautiful.
I'm sending you a PM because I have a couple questions and didn't want to go on and on here.
That Stones song really is a great song. Amazing how strong Mick's voice still is.
You have a completely different taste in music than I do but I love listening to different genres. Good list.

Great List bro. But your HAVEN'T seen are some you must see. But we know you will get to it when you can. We can't see them all bro but we can try our hearts out
Great list, he's my favorite everything.
I've not seen Schindler's List either yet.
The Color Purple is really good, but I found it to be a one time is enough film for me.

If your looking for an off beat watch track down STAY HUNGRY ARNOLD has a supporting part in the flick. Jeff Bridges does a swell job in this one as a gatsby type and it's just a bizarre film overall.
^ yeah I just came across that one when I was going through his imdb, it sounds really cool! I want to check out that, Eraser and that documentary on him sometime

Based on a list by OldKingClancy
I'm sure you've just recruited an entire fleet of people who would "fuck the shit up" with you if any names on said list were to be.....remade...

Based on a list by Kevin Smith fan
#1 I'm Right there with you, District 9 was Tight and So was his short film i'm forgetting the name of and don't feel like opening a new tab to simply look it up even though by the time i typed all this i could have. but yea #1.

I can't wait for Stoker and Mud, especially Stoker since I love Park Chan-Wook but I wasn't a big fan of Thirst.
^ honestly I've only seen Oldboy from him but I have both of his Sympathy movies on my 'to see' list. I can't muster up any interest in Thirst though, even if it is him writing and directing, it has a lot to do with the whole vampire thing I think...

Based on a list by Terminal_83
I'm gonna try and watch The Beaver over the weekend. If it's still up on Netflix UK
^ good to hear, I hope you like it man. I loved it, a good script (dark and unique), well directed and fantastic acting across the board with an award worthy performance from Gibson and Yelchin especially, totally got snubbed I think
I totally forgot jennifer Lawerence was in The Beaver, I really really enjoyed The Beaver. Is was a great Original movie. Mel Gibson regardless of his outside life, the man's a hell of an actor. To say the least.......

That picture, lol.
There will never be another like that guy I tell ya. ;) Love him.
Crazy picture! And of course dumb and dumber is número UNO. It's the best!

#5 Genie is rather funny.
#7 Cinderella might be a good choice. She has experienced and appreciated a wide spectrum of life.
#3 Good, Peter Pan gets another mention. Gonad had Peter Pan on his list too. I thought that the dude who never grows up might appeal to many Schmoes.

Based on a list by zombie_bro

Besides Bringing Out The Dead, you haven't seen his best work.
@raz - whoops, forgot about it. It's in the honorable mentions now.
@drew - I've really been wanting to for what feels like forever, I've heard nothing but great things! I think I'll do a double header one night with it and Raising Arizona
@electro - fuck yes you can! haha. I loved the ending of Knowing over here though
...and you must see Honeymoon in Vegas.
Moonstruck is so good too. They all are!

^ never seen it actually, but now that I see the cover I really want to haha. I got up to 30 on this list and just gave up as I realized I could just keep going and going... a lot more one word movies I like than I thought haha so I just went with the first 30 that came to mind.

Based on a list by LegendarySuit
^^ It doesn't matter if its Gina Carano's ass or not. It's epic! Embrace it.
wow... I dont know if its cuz I just blazed a big one, but this list blew my mind. It sums up exactly how I feel about these movies. wtf.

Never heard of it.
There doesn't appear to be any of those around here in my area.
@Blizzo - def get on that, not one you want to miss in the theatre!! Big screen, big sound, 3D... it's a must see in the theatre I think as it totally delivers on all those fronts. Hope you check it out + end up enjoying it as I did!

@JL - just as I don't understand those who thought it was good, great or even brilliant ;) I wish I had just seen the Asylum ripoff by mistake, because man I was expecting so much more out of TS3 (at least in terms of the main plot, I still believe the beginning and ending were just great)

No love for "Black Snake Moan" and the cameo in "The Other Guys"? Happy to see "Loaded Weapon" get a shout out though.
^ look at the title of the list "(non-cameo/small role)" haha. Actually have never seen Black Snake Moan myself though
my bad, if your a fan of Jackson give "Black Snake Moan" a look, he's the lead btw.
I just watched the Dream House trailer. For fuck sake, how could you not only fuck up that bad, but make the fuck up the selling point of your trailer?
Agree soooo much with bridge to Tarabithia...I was crying like a baby at the end haha
#11, That still pisses me off, bad call on their part.
#15, In all fairness that was no ordinary high five it was a long distance high five.

#7 is like that because I didn't really care for (or notice, aside from Ori and Fili) any of them so they're all sort of tied for me at this point I guess.

Based on a list by zombie_bro
@zombie - sorry for the pain man haha. They're all about equal for me though, I laughed a bunch during all of them but honestly I'd say That's My Boy is the only one that really sticks out in terms of laughs, I was consistently laughing hard with that one more than the other two. A great surprise... for me at least lol

Your top five deserve their top-five status. The Expendables series is most impressive simply for its action ensemble. That casting is an accomplishment, and the actors then work very well together..
Dredd and Spirit of Vengeance deserve the respect shown.
Amazing Spidey-Emo and Red Tails might merit their lower statuses.
You have seen plenty of action movies this year. Damn.
^ I had an absolute blast with it. It was funny, dark, slimey and violent. I loved it, a great little package.

This is a phenomenal list and every single one of these guys would be on mine too.
"What would I do without George Luz?"

Dude Malavita, is gonna be the shit. Did you happen to catch the Netflix series Called LillyHammer. Same pretense for Malavita. It was surprising fucking awesome. ALL are movies I wont miss.

I like your version of Cloud Atlas more then the other one the the list.
@Cochise, Heavy Rain is another i need to get, seen vids on youtube reminds of L.A Noire which i thought was a fantastic game, so will get HR.
#1 has Ellen Page in it. I may need to buy a games system to just to play it.
1 & 6 are must buys for me. I want to get GTAV but all I ever do on those games is fuck around instead of play the missions so I don't know if I'll get that one or not.

Looks like a good year for NHL 13. I don't think I have played a NHL game since NHL 10 or NHL 2K10, which I own and love.
@zombie - damn dude gotta disagree. I was surprised by hwo much depth the game had, I kept discovering new things to do and new aspects of the maps and weapons every time I played. Only thing that sucked was the online connectivity issues I thought. It wasn't a perfect game, but I thought it was pretty great and a great return after all this time.
@tbond - dude, pick it up! It's on sale for 49.99 at FutureShop and probably everywhere else right now and it's totally worth it! Easily the best one in years and years and years... plus hey, it's got the IceCaps!

Nice,
not sure why there wasnt alot of love for Seven Psychopaths, And for supporting actor, no one holds a candle to Michael Caine.
Nice list! I still need to see CLOUD ATLAS. It's not playing anywhere near me. I might have to wait until it comes out on DVD.
Ef My Cocaine cries in a woll than ye'best givem' the bloody lil'golden chap. Udderwize heal take it awz an insalt and hunt ya'down and keel ya' in front uv ya' muvva an' favva.

great list Jack Frost (not the horror movie) does have a tear educing scene when the son is making a snowman after he finds out his dad died or just got back from the funeral l can't remember the whole scene except that it mad me really sad

great stuff , My Man . Novak's a beast . I've never seen any number one play so many 5 set matches . and win .

Great list. Though I haven't seen all of Scorsese's movies I would have to put Gangs of New York near the top.
^ I really gotta give that one a watch again. Truth be told I remember liking it, but don't really remember much of it

This is a good list. Your top two would probably be my top two as well.
Well this may be the 1st and only time you and I are in complete agreement on the No. 1 for a list.

Signs, Cloverfield, Deep Blue Sea, Splice and Pitch Black...in my opinion. I just think they are better classified as something other than horror. That's just my opinion though.
^ oh, yeah... I definitely consider them all horror movies myself. They're all subgenres of horror I think. Just like Halloween is slasher horror film, Cloverfield is like a found footage horror film, Signs is a mystery/thriller/sci-fi horror, Deep Blue Sea a monster movie horror film, Splice and Pitch Black sci-fi horror (like Alien) etc.
Nearly every horror film has different subgenres mixed into it, the only thing that makes a horror movie a horror movie if that it has the intent of scaring, startling, disturbing or frightening the viewer -- and personally these are the 25 movies that aim to do that that I find the most enjoyable. Just curious though... what would you consider them if not horror?

the three character aspect could be pretty badass. Pretty hype to see the next trailer
I'm down for this. I was pulling for a modern take on Vice City but this sounds fresh from R*

Since you have who framed roger rabbit at #2 ill forgive you for having BTTF all the way at 8 ;)
^ haha thanks... I look like the original BTTF, just really like the 2nd one more. The only movies on this list I don't really like are 11, 12 and 13. 10 was alright, but all the others above it are movies I either like or love!

I'm excited for everyone but 1 and am still iffy if its a good idea to make "Mockingjay" a two-parter.
Pretty much looking foward to all of these! Hard to pick a "most anticipated" as well.
^ yeah, Avatar 2 is my clear cut choice for most anticipated right now. And honestly I'm not very excited for 5 and 6 at all, and even Ant-Man to some extent (will depend on the casting) but I hope those three are nice surprises, I think I'll see them anyway.

The Grey had an EXTREME plane crash. I was in DBOX watching that too and it was intense!
^ what! I've never had the chance to check out one of those DBOX theatres but man that scene in The Grey would've been the perfect thing for it I imagine... so jealous!

@Frank - they've said they're doing 7, 8 and 9 based on the ideas that Lucas has had for those movies for years now. After that though it's really up in the air and I hope to see more prequels for sure. Prequels do not have to be directly connected to the existing movies though. This is a vast universe with thousands of years to explore, a prequel in the Star Wars universe does not have to be about what happened directly before Episode I but could be about what happened 1,000 years before Episode I, that's why I think the idea of new Star Wars films is so intriguing.
Good point on the centuries or even millennia to play with in prior time.
You're childhood was not complete if you didn't see Space Camp. For real. Assuming of course you're not a child, haha, if you are there's still time!

I remember watching Mortal Kombat in the theaters, in the beginning, it was dark and quite and suddenly this fuckin' voice:
MORTAL KOMBATTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!
MORTAL KOMBAT still holds up to this day. A great, entertaining-as-hell B-movie video game adaptation. It was the first of its kind, and it's still the best.

I agree completely. Battlefront, Path of Neo and Spidey 2 were played until the discs wore out lol
^ agreed he was! A bit of a smaller role again unfortunately but he stole the scenes he was in, a great presence. The movie itself though, is actually one of my favourite movies of all time, I was totally surprised by it and totally fell in love with it!
I would definitely like to see more Douglas now that he's got all that behind him, at least as far as I know he does. I saw him in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps in the theatre and he's definitely still got it, so come on hollywood!
Goldblum I've seen in a couple things recently but in VERY small roles, however he freakin OWNED both of them and I think was probably the highlight of both movies despite having a real small role (Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie and The Switch)
Cochise I just loved The King's Speech as well, and I think I can count it as one of my favorites of all time too. Who would think that? I am a huge fan of Colin Firth fan, yet I still had doubts about the movie that it could be that interesting. I was blown away by it. Guy did have a rather small part but he did a great job with it.
I love Jeff Goldblum. He's always been underrated in my opinion. I'm glad he's been in a couple things lately, however small. Hollywood really does need to get on casting these greats. Out with the old in with the new it seems. Sad.
^ yeah it really sucks, especially when a lot of the 'new' just aren't that good, especially in comparison. Wish they didn't basically shun a lot of these actors like it seems they're doing... with Jurassic Park 4 coming now though, I'm getting excited... I mean I know there is absolutely no guarantee but just the idea of Goldblum coming back in a starring role in a Jurassic Park movie gets me EXTREMELY excited... that would be amazing I think

Completely agree with Insidious being overrated. I really enjoyed the first 2/3 of it and felt it reminded me of Poltergeist. Then they go into that dream world and the creature that looked scary before now becomes a laughing stock.
@Grelber - thanks. And for the record I actually really enjoy Psycho, I just don't think it's 'perfect' or a 'masterpiece' or one of the 'scariest movies of all time' like so many say, that's why I find it overrated. Insidious I was shocked by, I couldn't believe how bad it was considering the overwhelming praise, I just found it quite cheap, ineffective and even laughably bad at times. Bram Stoker's Dracula I did not like at all either, which was unfortunate as I was really looking forward to it and love the cast as well as the director...

I throughly enjoy your love for Ex2!
Im on board with #4 but i woulda given Pattinson the Win
Great call on #5!!
what do you classify as special affects? I was in so much awe after watching all the special features in Prometheus. you should def check it out!
#8/#6 would be Argo for me!
i think Seven Psychopaths will be a hit for me (i hope)
nice choices :)
^ I love it! Yes it's flawed, no it may not have the best acting or the best writing but I really don't think that's what makes the best movie of the year -- it's the movie that offers the most enjoyment and at this point Ex2 gave that to me!
Yes, Pattinson was great in there. The more I think about that movie the more I like it, even if it was difficult to get through (well not so much get through as 'follow' heh).
Caine was incredibly in his brief appearance in TDKR and actually probably my favourite thing about the movie. Yes he had a pretty limited role but it was an important role and man did he just knock it right out of the park, and then some. It still sticks with me.
Special effects to me is any sort of special effect whether it be practical effects or CG (or a combination of the two). I am so excited to get that 4 disc set for Prometheus, just gotta find some time and money haha... as for Seven Psychopaths, I hope so too! I was planning on just waiting to see it on blu-ray but it looks like I may be able to see it at 50% off night next week anyway, so why not!

I'm tempted to just write "Seven Psychopaths" for everyone in that list. The movie was so so so so good! But, I love A Scanner Darkly and Moon and In Bruges so gosh darn much.
^ same here, just to be clear though I don't like Quantum of Solace I just 'like' that movie more than the others on her resume. Though it was, unfortunately, tough between that and Hitman lol all the others I love

I want to do a shot-for-shot remake of the trailer for the shot-for-shot remake of Psycho.
Ryan Gosling? And Blanchett wouldn't be a good Crane unless it was a loose remake. The whole point of Van Sant's experiment was being similar, even in actors.
Ryan Gosling as Norman Bates would be awesome, nobodys ever gonna be better than Perkins though !

Best thing about CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE is the "theme song" by DMX and Eminem that plays over the opening credits. The chorus -- "Go to sleep, bitch. Die, motherfucker, die!" -- gets stuck in my head every once in a great while. Haha!
The Count of Monte Cristo is a really good movie, I need to watch it again sometime too.

With the exception of the Star Wars point I agree with pretty much everything you wrote! LOL - Great List!!!
I disagree with a handful of things on this list, but (to beat a dead horse.) to each their own.
I certainly agree with the NHL comment though.
Great list. I don't know if I agree with everything but I completely respect your opinion on it. 10 and 16: I completely agree.

The Man Who Knew Too Much is a great movie. Doris Day, and she sings Que Sera Sera. I always play that part over and over. She and Jimmy Stewart were great together in this movie. Like most of Hitch's movies, it is more a thriller and not too scary.
310Jackson, I agree regarding Vertigo. I never cared for it either, despite repeated attempts, assuming I must be missing something. I agree it is boring.
I love North by Northwest. It always had a bit of a James Bondish feel to me.
White House Down does look interesting in the story alone. Plus, it will be Emmerich not destroying the world for once so it has potential.
Unless they're aliens.
^ the terrorists are actually aliens in disguise... why? well of course that won't be explained, but it'll be a cool twist! right... right? lol I'm actually pretty interested in it because of Emmerich. The dude may have some disappointments but he knows how to do action and it'll be interesting to see how he uses his action skills on a (relatively) small scale this time around, with all the action presumably taking place in one building.
@Gcolonna - thanks! I think Man with the Iron Fists comes out this year so you're in luck! Even though I love martial arts flicks and Russell Crowe there's something about that movie that just isn't getting me excited. I'll still see it, but I think I'll wait for video. I am SUPER excited for Man of Tai Chi as well as 47 Ronin but I didn't include them in this list as I saw Man of Tai Chi as more of a martial arts movie than an 'old school' action movie and 47 Ronin will have some (hopefully very cool) fantasy elements. Same thing can be said for Tai Chi 0 which I think looks absolutely incredible, but still. All around though it looks like next year will be great for action movies, from these 'old school' ones to the martial arts flicks to the sci-fi ones like Oblivion, Elysium, Iron Man 3, Thor 2, etc. it's gonna be great!
@Coch: Ya sorry, The man with the Iron Fists comes on Nov 2nd...
im so pumped for 47, and Tai Chi, i hope they dont disappoint! Im looking forward to alot of films comming up this year as well, but not so much IM3, and Thor 2... Marvel's way of films are starting to loose their affect on me, nothing new, nothign exciting, same jokes, same vibes, just gettin old.. but Obliviion, and Elysium now were talking :D (i think they are calling it Baja Dunes or somethign now?)

Twister was the first time I saw Hoffman and he was brilliant. Well, he was funny.
Only really disagree with #6. Creature is too much of an iconic classic for Hollywood not to fuck up.
^ As much as I personally love the character I really don't think he or the movie are that iconic, in fact I think it's (unfortunately) safe to say that most people would be like 'who? what?' if you brought it up in conversation. Regardless I'd just be real interested in seeing a new take on it and personally think that they could make it work, with the right crew behind it of course (and I'm sure there are a lot of filmmakers out there that would have the passion for something like this). I don't know, it could work it could not, I'd just like to see it either way. In fact of all the movies on this list it's probably one of the ones I'd want to see the most haha... And hey if it doesn't work then the original is still there good as ever!

^ haha why not right? It's the only unique Bond gadget I could come up with when I was writing this lol
Are you challenging Weisz to a game of marbles to trick her into getting blown up?
^ no no lol no playing the actual game of marbles, just marbles that the bad guys trip on and when they step on they explode kind of thing... I was gonna say 'Exploding Balls' but that would've sounded... yeah... hahahaha

Some good films there. Mine would be:
1. Beasts of the Southern Wild (4/4)
2. The Master (4/4)
3. Side By Side (4/4)
4. Moonrise Kingdom (3.5/4)
5. Coriolanus (3.5/4)
6. Arbitrage (3.5/4)
7. Prometheus (3.5/4)
8. The Intouchables (3.5/4)
9. The Grey (3.5/4)
10. Sleepwalk With Me (3.5/4)
^ nice, I am very excited to see Beasts of the Southern Wild. I think I saw a feature on it and it's director on Last Call with Carson Daly late one night and man it looked great! Also a bit interested in checking out Arbitrage because of the brilliant Brit Marling

Wasting Light was one hell of an album! I saw that last September for the second time and they played for 3 hours, blew me away. In a few years they will be refreshed and ready to rock again I am sure.
Good list. My faves:
1. Walking After You
2. Learning To Fly
3. Big Me

DeNiro, Rocky Balboa, the Iron Giant, and Hannibal Lector all deserve monuments. Heck, Rocky even has one. That statue is now put away; however, it stood in Philadelphia for years.
The thought occurred just now. Schmoes could order cardboard cut-outs, build Rushmores, and do Show Us Your Shit photos. I wonder how many deeply-dedicated MFCers would do that.
Actually the statue is still at the Art Museum in Philly just not at the top of the steps anymore. It's down at the bottom of the steps now and off to the side...at least it was 6 months ago when I visited there haha.

I approve this list, especially 6 and 7. And I think they should have cut out Sandman from SM3. They screwed up the backstory of Uncle Ben's death.
But I know I'm in the minority and that particular one.
@Raiden - while I would've preferred the movie focus solely on Sandman as the villain (and the resolution of the Harry storyline) I do agree that connecting him to Uncle Ben was unneeded.

carano is hot and would knock your dome off lol plus she does all her own stunts
^ you just know there'd be a parody of the XXX fashion if this movie happened haha, bringing together all the legends of the industry... well, maybe just the current stars not sure the 'legends' would be that 'cool' to see heh

Nice list bude, always enjoy your lists.
and props to wallcrawler on the list idea!
@billyo - I've actually never seen the director's cut haha, always wanted to though but haven't had the time or money to pick up the boxset (really want to though!). I Am Bruce Lee is worth a watch if you're a fan or want to know the basics about him, but while some of the personal stories from his widow were touching (that made me tear up) the movie itself was just 'good' not great or amazing or anything.
@Gcolonna - thanks man, cheers!

This is a great, great list man. Sam Rockwell is criminally underrated and it's nice to see him represented on a list that he for sure deserves to be a part of. I'm glad you not only included Guy Pearce on here but also his two best roles (IMO) as well.. good stuff.
1 is a great choice. I have yet to see him give a bad performance. I actually discovered Sam Rockwell when I was 6 because they used to show this indie movie called Lawn Dogs on IFC and the Sundance Channel a lot and I was in love with that movie. Never forgot about him since. All great choices btw.
another great list man it kills me about mel just think of the few movies he would have done if this gold digging whore wouldnt of thrown him under the bus i hope he can come back cause he dont need the loot so when he walks away i for one will be sad and you and me both know how we love the stath so much lol but he is saved for the baddest ass kicker not actor ive been watching all of stathams movies old to new and pausing em and not once do i see a stunt double not once and that alone make watching his movies one of a kind i dont get all this hate on statham cause he only makes action films diesel or the rock got nothing on him stathams screen fighting makes the rocks look like shit so all u statham haters dont watch his films but great list sorry for the rambling gotta give the stath the respect he much highly deserves but i could not of made a better actor list!!!
I agree with it all apart from the Avengers battle should be higher its great but no 1 and 2 spot on.
^ yeah the only reason it's not higher is because I was underwhelmed by it. It's a damn good battle for sure, but it's impact was diminished for me because when I was watching it it just seemed like deja vu way too much (from Dark of the Moon's finale that came out the year before, as well as certain action scenes from other action movies they basically redid like when Hulk punches the nose of the ship, flipping it over his head -- I vividly remembered the exact same thing from Hellboy when he punched the nose of the car making it flip over exactly the same). Still, a damn good battle and I look forward to seeing it again!

Totally agreed on No. 1, but...
I would have to mightily take issue with the ratings for 6 - 10. C'mon, are they really that much of a drop off from the upper half of the list???
@tyler - yeah man, I've been meaning to get around to it for a while. I caught the first little bit of it a while back and was surprised by the tone/style, it was different than I expected, definitely interested in giving the whole thing a shot.
@Yosh - I found them to be yes, though it's not such a sudden drop. 10, 8, 7, 6, 6, 4, 4, 3. I think he's a talented director for sure, but I don't think all of his movies have matched up to what he's capable of. The bottom 3 in particular just didn't work well enough at all for me. Here are my reviews of them if you're interested...

This list empties your psyche a bit, and it offers others things to consider. That's for sure.
On #6, same boat. Potentially, I have different reasons than you for disliking Kingdom of Heaven. But, we agree that a person could not quite get into the film. For me, the film's trailers and TV ads promised one type of film; then, the actual film delivered another.
On #8, same boat. Everyone loves and admires Kubrick. But, the book A Clockwork Orange does more with the story. It is more thoughtful, and Anthony Burgess's text does not explore strictly the sexual. Kubrick's film is much like Brass's Caligula. The films are stylistically master achievements; however, they are, in certain ways, just exploitive and pornographic spectacle superseding more complex themes.
@XSsoCX - that's the thing though, like I say in the list I actually DO enjoy most of these movies, I just don't enjoy them as much as I wish I did -- it's certainly not that I dislike all of these films.

This list is pretty much close to flawless.. 1/2/3/4/7/8/9 FUCK YES and Gordon Ramsay? Amazing haha

@Gcolonna - yeah, I needed Riggs in there, I'm a fan of the crazier action heroes (Rggs, Smith, Slater, Snow) haha. I really like Indy over here, but if I could think of someone else he'd probably be the first to go.
havent seen Lockout, maybe ill have to give it at go. Danny the dog was a good call though! Was thnking about putting Huo Yuanjia (fearless) on there for, but took Bruce over Jet.
Yeah dude check out Lockout. The movie itself is decent at best, at least in my mind, but Guy Pearce as Snow was fucking badass and hilarious.

#1, 3, 5 You pick some good ones. This list's picks are also solid movies that Schmoes might not have seen yet. They are not the works that people discuss to death. Rocky Balboa and Hero merit especially further discussion, for they make a person really think after the movie.
For me, it's gotta be:
01. PULP FICTION (Willis)
02. DIE HARD (Willis)
03. ROCKY (Stallone)
04. THE WRESTLER (Rourke)
05. FIRST BLOOD (Stallone)
06. SIN CITY (Rourke and Willis)
07. COMMANDO (Schwarzenegger)
08. THE TERMINATOR (Schwarzenegger)
09. KISS OF THE DRAGON (Li)
10. TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY (Schwarzenegger)
@grelber - thanks man and totally agreed about Hero and Balboa!
@magjournal - some good picks, but this list was your favourite movie from each of the stars featured in Expendables 2 (Rourke isn't in it) with only one movie per actor
Based on a list by horrorfan23

I just saw the Dictator. I didn't like it as well (though that end speech was kinda clever). My favorite would have to be Bruno (exclusiv interviev mit Hahrison Fhooord gets me every time).
I used to love Ali G, but when I rewatched it recently it wasn't as good as when I was 17. Who knew? ;)
^ agreed, that speech at the end was great. I thought Bruno was solid, but honestly prefer the original Bruno (from the TV show).

@Alejandro - very cool, I'll try to track down the Duellists then! And yeah I checked out Robin Hood last night and was blown away. I always thought it looked really dull and uninteresting but finally checked it out anyway and was really, really surprised by it. At best I was expecting Kingdom of Heaven quality from it, and half expecting it would be worse based on how I thought it looked beforehand but after seeing it it totally blew KoH (Director's Cut too) out of the water, I'm quite surprised by all the hate/dislike for it to be honest.
I have heard amazing things about Kingdom of Heaven (well the uncut version.).
I am actually really really slacking on Scott films, I have only seen Gladiator, Alien, American Gangster and Body of Lies. And Legend in the eighties when I was a little tike. So that doesn't count, but I do recall being creeped out by "Lord of Darkness".
@so - yeah dude Legend was one of my childhood favourites (it scared the crap out of me too). I thought Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut was decent, above average but all in all not that good and in the end I was a bit disappointed by it.
http://www.moviefancentral.com/cochise-2/reviews/15387
Still it's worth a shot, KoH and Robin Hood are in line with Ridley's Gladiator (though obviously not as good) if you want more of that.

Pop-Hop and Crunk just should not exist. Gospel is something that I think depends on the audience, but it's not for me. I actually don't mind Reggaeton.

The only one that needs a sequel is possibly Serenity because they have a loyal fan base and it was actually all right. The rest of these movies bombed for a reason. They are terrible. I'm sorry but the Green Lantern is so awful its painful to watch. I get the same look on my face when I see someones leg bend the way it shouldn't bend. A good movie to add to this list would've been Phantoms with Afleck. That was a really fun movie that bombed I think
Waterworld I like, I take that back. It could have a sequel if they came up with a great plot especially with all the special effects they have today it could be great.

ill be honest i didn't like him in any films i saw till MI:III, not cause he was a bad actor, but cause i hated every character he played. Even in twister, just bugged me. But after MI3 i was like hmm i like him as a bad guy cause i love to hate this guy

^ I'm just counting Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal as the trilogy. I tried to watch Hannibal Rising but was just not feeling it at all. I watched most of it but don't think I ended up finishing it, maybe one day I'll get around to it but nothing about it really hooked me or impressed me like the others

You know, he didn't do that bad in Terminator: Salvation. The worst thing that you could say about it is that he barely had anything to do. He was totally wasted.
^ I actually liked Salvation quite a bit, don't get the hate at all. I think he was solid in the role too but nothing really, really great or anything especially compared to his other work. I think Worthington stole the show in that one personally

American Psycho,The Dark Knight,Equilibrium & Terminator Salvation good picks.
How about a FAVORITES section for the MFC? Under each image/review/list/video/etc would be a small FAVORITES icon. If you click it, the item would automatically be posted in your profile, under the FAVORITES section. So you can basically "save" all your favorite items from the MFC (from other members). I can only make it through twenty-thirty minutes of Tim and Eric at a time. And that's pushing it. It goes beyond the point of stupid and immature to something altogether different. Once I figure out what that is maybe I can have an actual opinion on Tim and Eric aside from the thought that there are so many better things I could be watching. Great list, though.
@Electro - yeah like I was saying earlier I've been pretty underwhelmed and disappointed with movies this year. I realize it's only half way through but I really hope it turns around because any other year it would be lucky if #'s 4 to 10 even made the top 10 at the end of the year

To this day, Dragonball Evolution never happened. Sooo to me good sir, #19 doesn't exist. May i ask what your deal was with The Fugitive? Also I'm a lil shocked you didn't like Ghost Protocol?
@blankpage - I really wanted to like it and was looking forward to it, but was really disappointed by it... here's my review: http://www.moviefancentral.com/cochise-2/reviews/12536
@Gcolonna - I can't believe they screwed it up that bad... wish they had just given the whole thing to Stephen Chow and let him do whatever he wanted with it, direct it, write it, produce it... instead he only got an exec producer credit and the only thing remotely Chow/Dragonball in the movie were elements of Master Roshi... a shame. Who knows, maybe there's still a chance to see a live action movie in the future done right... I would love to see Stephen Chow do a Dragon Ball Z movie, Kung Fu Hustle proved to me that he could nail it.

Should watch Primer since I've seen Oancitizen's review which I think makes it more an okay movie than a great one.
You definitely need to see Safe Men. It's really funny. #3 is great. 22, 33, and 47 are worth watching too.

#1 Rocky Balboa does deserve some props. The film was a very pleasant surprise.
#6 Rocky needs a mention. It established Stallone's career, and the picture contributed to American cinema in a big way.
#11 Enjoy Cop Land. You will. Even my dad liked it.
#3 Most Rambo movies make the world a better place. But, First Blood has the most to say, and it moves viewers more than the next two action flicks. Your #5 might be the most recent Rambo (or it might be First Blood, Part II called commonly Rambo). That film brought the franchise's pathos full-circle as it did also the plot.
Good list. You are a Stallone fan. It's a good thing.
@grelber - yeah I saw the first 15 minutes or so of Cop Land a couple months ago and was really, really diggin what I saw so far but never got around to seeing the rest. Gotta do that asap! I agree First Blood had the best story out of all of them, III for me though ranks slightly above it though just because I thought it was a superior (his best and one of the best) action movies out there. #5 is actually Rambo (2008) so with that yeah, First Blood Part II didn't even make the top 10 for me! Was pretty disappointed by that one, and looking back Rambo (2008) does everything it did better, and then some. But, I can see the nostalgia factor for the second movie for some, just not me.
Anyone who says Sly can't act, or all he's good at is action films.. I always tell them to go watch Cop Land, and see if you still think so. Tango & Cash is pure 80's gold :)

^ I think it is, I'm askin why you don't? And what would you consider it?
^ well yeah, but I don't find The Exorcist, Jaws, Alien or Psycho scary in the least -- but I still consider them 'horror' movies. They just don't scare me, but I do enjoy them... just because I don't find them truly scary doesn't mean they aren't horror movies...

^ it's very cheesy and there's a definite nostalgia factor to it for me but it'll always be one of my favourites. I always have fun everytime I watch it (and man have I watched it a lot lol used to be my favourite movie as a kid)

Leafs eh.... (enough said there)
and your jets, i had great hopes for them.. A big thanks for takin Oli from my Flames, i didn't even want the option lingering for Feaster to re-sign him.
Definitely need to check out Born on the Fourth of July, which is kind of ironic seeing as Cruise was in real life born on the 3rd of July.

Two of these are on mine and one would be on my mt Rushmore of terrible directors. lol

I've got actually three sci-fi flicks at the top of my list, the ones you have on top - Elysium and Oblivion - and also Pacific Rim. 2013 might not look as good as 2012 but it still should be a great year, especially for my favorite genre
^ nice dude! Now that we're half way through 2012 though honestly I'm kind of disappointed in movies this year, it's just not going as well as I thought heh. Not bad by any means but I was expecting something a lot better and truth be told I'm actually a LOT more stoked for the 2013 slate. I absolutely LOVE original sci-fi movies, and it's filled with a bunch so I'm totally there. And a Shane Black Iron Man with Guy Pearce as well as a Thor 2 (a movie I just discovered my love for)... I'm stoked!
@JohnLocke - thanks man, would like to see yours!
To be honest, the best movies always come after the summer, even last year - Warrior, Drive, Artist, Decendants.
And this year we have all of these amazing directors coming up with new and original material - Spielberg, Tarantino, Anderson, Refn, Hillcoat, Wachowskis, Chan-wook Park, etc. Give it time ;)

For me it is Aliens #1 and then Alien #2. I will give Prometheus #3 as it was good but not great. Alien 3 has some good parts but it is overall disappointing and I will give it #4. Alien : Resurrection and Alien vs. Predator sucked so who cares where they go. I never bothered with Requiem.

Great list! I dunno if I'd put Hulk above Avengers, but I have to go back and watch it. I remember being impressed with seeing the Hulk finally just unleash on a foe. I'm hoping all the Marvel movies up their game a bit when it comes to the climatic "boss" battles. Iron Man 2 just left me so disappointed...
@speed - Yeah man I watched it again recently and it's pretty badass, just brutal, painful action. I had a blast with The Avengers finale as well, but even though TIC's isn't as long or as big I still find it more enjoyable... part of the reason is because the Avengers climax just felt like a lot of deja vu and because of that kind of lessened the impact/greatness of it (but still obviously not THAT much lol)

also what the fuck Iron Man 2 for having a different theme for Iron Man, stick with the great original one! That's why it's called a THEME... man I sure hope Thor 2 sticks with the theme from the first movie...
btw #7 would've had the #4 spot easy if it wasn't 'rejected' lol... love it!
Yeah I didn't like that they did away with the guitar rock theme for IM2.
They're okay, but..........none of them hold a candle to Wiliams' and Elfman's SUPERMAN and BATMAN. Both in theme, and score.
Those are two of the best movie themes, superhero or otherwise, for sure. The only one on here that comes close to them for me is Thor. It's memorable, beautifully composed and emotionally effective as well. I dig the Iron Man theme as well but it's not the most memorable, it's damn fun and suits the character though, dig the rock n roll based route they took.

@Yosh - I didn't see TDK in IMAX but did see Mission Impossible 4 in IMAX and agree that the switching between was a bit distracting. Cool, but distracting. Sooner or later though the tech will advance enough to the point where a whole movie can be shot and we won't have to deal with that transition.
Silent Hill: Revelation is in 3D though, so if it were to be in IMAX it would most likely carry the 3D into the IMAX screenings as well. I know I probably shouldn't get into a Silent Hill debate with you heh, but I think Silent Hill could really benefit from 3D. Not in the Res
Good list, we have a couple the same.
