PROS:
+ great direction
+ great cast
+ fantastic script
+ fantastic acting (that may sound weird, but although it's not dramatically-based the acting is still really impressive as they created well rounded, unique characters that don't just feel like actors reading lines)
CONS:
- not really a complaint, but I would've liked to have known a bit more about Sidney Fife as a person, what he does and just experience a bit of his routine, especially work wise because the way they had it it was almost so vague that I half expected Sydney to have some deep dark secret
OVERALL:
it's a fantastic movie thanks to the surprising chemistry between the two comedy kings in the leads. They're supported by not only solid direction but a fantastic script that's varied, quotable and memorable with a ton of different fun characters, jokes and situations. I've seen this one a few times now and have realized that it's really one of those comedies that holds up upon repeat viewings, and because of that gets a 9. Highly recommended.

I love this movie the more I watch it, It really does hold up like you said.
