PROS:
+ great direction, very slick and stylish but never overly frantic
+ fantastic action (bloody, gory and just all around big. Well choreographed and shot as well)
CONS:
- movie gets off to a bit of a rough start with it's collage-of-previous-events moment
- a couple semi-awkward dialog sequences especially with Kate Beckinsale when she tries to emote
- one or two shots were too dark just in terms of the lighting even in the Underworld world (the one in particular was a shot of a few headshots in a row that could've looked great but was a bit hard to fully see)
OVERALL:
even with a very simplistic plot the movie is still highly enjoyable because of great direction and even better action sequences that are varied, brutal and always one upping the last. Unfortunately story wise it's not as interesting or entertaining as any of the previous installments but perhaps it's better then that the story and dialog sequences are pushed more to the side here in favour of the action, which any action fan should have a total blast with. Recommended.
3D:
there are some great pop shots that are never done to the point where it takes the viewer out of the movie but more importantly the movie has a really great sense of depth that really shines and comes through on nearly every scene. In terms of the 3D factor this one gets a 2 out of 3.

Nice, I may check this out this week. Can you stick this on our site?
I won't get to see this in theaters like I wanted, so waiting for other source to come in. Great review! (Now everyone take a drink whenever WP/Cochise writes an awesome review, in my opinion...)
@Bond - yeah for sure. I think you'd really dig it man, in terms of the action I was surprised by how stylish, brutal and fun it was... very much reminded me of this year's Immortals in some ways
@RoseBug - thanks as always, really appreciate you reading and commenting!

I enjoyed this too. Won't win any awards but it was fun and entertaining.
