Defendor

PROS:

+ great acting all around
+ great writing/script (a fun story and characters make it an involving experience that you actually care about)
+ a unique mix of quite different genres that somehow ends up really working
+ good direction
+ the action is well done and planned out in an interesting, unique way
+ the dark comedy hits the mark nearly every time

CONS:

- could've been a little tighter especially in the second act

OVERALL:

it's not for everyone as it mixes quite a few genres, for instance it seems fun, funny and lighthearted at times, but then a character action will result not in something fantastical but something that rockets the viewer back down to reality showing that the movie really is grounded in the truest sense. Still though, for those that are open to a different take on a superhero movie there's certainly something to enjoy. The fantastic acting makes you really feel for and care about the characters, drawing an honest emotional connection that's rare in movies as a whole, nevermind superhero movies. Think Kick-Ass except a lot more grounded and because of that, darker. Highly recommended.
