Plus Wildstorm's Warblade makes an appearance in Superboy
2011 Golden Schmoes Thoughts
#4 Holy shit! You noticed that omission too. Maybe, Stake Land is more for heavy-duty, hardcore horrorheads.
#3 I noticed the same as you did. Apparently, Drive is a very good film to discuss.
#8 "Noooo!" to quote Caesar
#1 Now that you mention it, Deathly Hallows's exclusion surprises greatly. MFC has consistently called the final Potter the best of 2011.
#6 Yeah, Schmoes should like Chastain. She is in our favorite movies; she kicks ass; and, she's pretty. Chastain is even quite good in Texas Killing Fields (if someone needs to see her in more work).
I dont think enough people got a chance to see Tinker Tailor. It just opened up in my local theater 2 weeks ago. When I saw it, I had to drive 30 minutes away.

Random Thoughts About Southland Now That I Am Caught Up
@cerealkiller-I accidentally spoiled Christopher Meloni's departure from Law & Order: SVU for another schmoe on here. Even though his departure was posted on various sites including this one months before the 13th season premiere, it wasn't known to this person. I don't want anyone getting upset at you, I wasn't trying to be pushy. I'm sorry that it came out that way.

Top 20 Best Performances on TV in 2011
@Suit Sorry. I found it horribly contrived and inconsistently acted. Beyond my own contempt for the Texas football cult community, I found, outside of the Chandler and Gilford characters, they followed (and seemed to prefer to follow) characters I didnt care about namely Street, Rigs, Tyra, Smash, and Lilah. Their stories made me want to rip my hair out of my head.

Cast This Video Game Film: Twisted Metal

Just the fact that these sequels are in the works makes him somewhat of a go to guy for sure, otherwise they wouldn't be greenlit if they didn't think the movies would turn a profit or that he could carry a movie/action flick. All of them have been really successful especially on video. the first time he talked about Riddick 3? uh... dude, they're already filming it?
Do not agree with Goss and Adkins being modern day action heroes in the slightest. They have potential but haven't put out the quality movies yet though some of them have had, like them potential. If you're saying a Twisted Metal movie would be direct to video that's just crazy talk, Sony would never let a full fledged live action movie from one of their first party franchises be handled in such a way. They're either gonna go big with it, or go home.
Riddick already filming? The only news I can find on it is they offered actors part with no confirmations that they'd take it dated Oct 31st and Nov 2nd. Before that they were supposed to start filming over the summer but got delayed to TBA date.
You also need to look up what a summer blockbuster is, because a low budget surprise hit released before the big summer push is not a summer blockbuster. To say Vin Diesel is a go to guy for summer blockbusters is factually incorrect because he does not star in summer blockbusters.
The quality of Goss and Adkins movies does not excuse the fact that the two are working actors appearing in action movies. They are absolutely modern day action heroes. This isnt the 80s where action movies are the best thing and everyone knows the actors involved. Its a really good chance that the next super hero will probably also do a romantic comedy, so there is no go to action hero.
And yes, if Twister Metal movie is going to be made it will be either a DTV or DTV quality. The concept does not lend itself to being much better. Its about crazy people killing each other with cars. It is bound to be rated-R, and will never have enough money to look the way it should. It could be more extravagant, but that would certainly be a surprise, not an expectaiton
I'm starting to think you simply are granting modern day acton movies with way more clout than they actually have.
yeah they were filming last I read. A summer blockbuster is really just a big action blockbuster/popcorn flick which Fast Five was.
They may be action actors, but they haven't achieved action hero status from my point of view. They could still do it, but haven't got there yet.
Like I said there's no way Sony would allow it to be a low budget dtv movie, they're either going big time or nothing at all. It could definitely work as a full fledged theatrical flick, Death Race is a very good example of how it could be done.
Cast an Unnecessary Remake
Edgar Wright was picked last as I was filling it out. I suppose Pegg and Frost might make a better Egon and Ray respectively.
Sub out Damon Wayans Jr. for Craig Robinson, and you've sold a ticket.
Cast of Daredevil
Ray Winstone-WIN! "Oi Daredevil, did you spill moi fackin' pint you cannt!!
I dont know about that. Not that he doesn't have the acting chops, he could play every character for all I care, but the thing about The Kingpin is even though he looks fat and old, he is actually much stronger, faster, and durable than he appears.

10 Aspects of DC's new 52 I Don't Like
There was nothing about Batwoman TO reboot. She barely had anything to begin with.
Dude, there is so much to love about The New 52. The Batwoman, Catwoman, Animal Man, Frankenstein Agent of S.H.A.D.E. books have been amazing and Batgirl is the shit. I don't know what you were expecting but we're only about 3 issues into each series. Give it some time.
@WA, my point wasn't why didn't these books get a reboot, its why did all these others have to, espcially with how arbitrarily each of the characters' clocks were wound back.
@DA, this is not a condemnation of the entire concept. I have enjoyed a number of the books. Frankly, except for Batgirl, the books you mention have really not been that affected by the reboot. They are all directions the books could have went regardless of overall continuity.
Asking me to give it time just sounds silly though. If you give it time it just becomes the DCU. The problem is they so arbitrarily restarted characters at completely different aspects in their lives that logistically the concept has weak points. I mean Barry and Iris, Batman and Catwoman, and Clark and Lois barely know each other, yet Batman is on his fourth sidekick and Hal Jordan still has his 40+ years of backstory.

2) Snatch
3) Sherlock Holmes
4) RocknRolla
5)Revolver - just because it's 5th on my list doesn't make it bad, don't sleep on this movie.
