Gonna be great! I know Rockstar said the map was gonna be bigger than RD:D, San Andreas and GTA 4 combined. After some research, I found out these approximations:
RD:D - 12 sq miles
GTA: SA - 14.5 sq miles
GTA 4 - 6.4 sq miles
I'm playing Just Cause 2 at the moment, and this is a massive map. Apparently, it's 400 sq miles!
But massive is not necessarily better. I hated riding those horses all across the map in Red Dead. I would use the teleportation device. Just Cause 2 has some fast cars and planes but I don't have the patience to drive long distances so I use the exportation device.
So I'm looking forward to see what they go for!
these rocked, but unfortunately at the same time were about what I expected... this stuff is cool and all, but I want to see actual gameplay!! I expect we'll see that at E3, but then again I'm not sure if Rockstar even goes to E3 now that I think back...
@Pat - I loved Red Dead myself, even the travelling and the isolation, I think it added to the experience and had purpose, but I do kind of see what you're saying, in a game like Far Cry 3 where it isn't so much about the journey (which I felt RDR was) then you don't want to drive for 30 minutes just to get somewhere, that game had a 'quick jump' feature though and it was great. Fantastic game by the way, must play. Anyways as for GTAV I think I heard it was... and I'm not joking... bigger than San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV combined... which seems absolutely nuts seeing as they are only doing 1 of the 3 cities that were in San Andreas... here's the source: http://www.igta5.com/game-informer-s-gta-v-issue-breakdown

I do not get why more (or all) HBO films don't get theatrical releases, they're better than most of the crap in the theatres. Game Change, You Don't Know Jack, Recount, The Sunset Limited. This looks like it could be another winner
