#1 Movie of All-Time
#1 Director
#1 Hottie
#1 Movie Character
Saw THE GREY last night and dug it a ton. A straight-forward thriller with a somber, serious tone. Carnahan proves he's a real filmmaker here, and Liam Neeson has never been more perfectly cast.
KILL LIST is on demand right now. If you can watch it, watch it.
Watched Melancholia last night. While I did not think it was rubbish (as I did with Anti Christ), it just failed to move me. Do not get all the Kirsten Dunst hype; Charlotte Gainsbourg was much more impressive.
I loved it. I'm a big fan of apocalyptic cinema and I thought this was an elegant entry in to the sub-genre.
I liked the film. I didn't love it, but I definitely did like it. It was a one-time watch for me and it is not a film I'll need to see again. I'm not a fan of the director to be honest (I hated Anti-Christ as well)...but I was impressed by BOTH actresses. I thought they were the best part of the film and that ending scene was well shot.
Have Midnight in Paris and Warrior in my possession; two 2011 flicks I'll finally be able to cross off my list.
I have Warrior on Netflix (but there is a wait) and Midnight in Paris, I thought was pretty great! Hope you love them!
Warrior is great, you just gotta look past some cliches and unrealistic details in the story because the story has alot of heart to it. Midnight in Paris is just light and fun. Allen's best film in ages.

Very much looking forward to KILL LIST tonight.
Also, saw CORMAN'S WORLD last night - it's great. A must-see for film lovers. We're having the director on the next podcast!
So what did you ask Tim Tebow for Tebowmas this year? (Yes, he's a combination of Santa Claus and Jesus Christ.)
Checked out two recently: ATROCIOUS, a decent Spanish found footage flick; short and sweet (only a little over 70 minutes long!) with a couple of very spooky moments. Alas, the end didn't really work, but still worth a peek.
LITTLE DEATHS: Unnerving, icky anthology of sex-related horror tales from the UK. Some really "unclean" material here, but it all seems gross for the sake of being gross.
Comes out next week, and we've got one of the directors, Simon Rumley, on the podcast.
Finally caught CONAN THE BARBARIAN. Wasn't expecting a whole lot, but still felt kinda like a letdown.
It looked like a whole lot of money went toward a bunch of elaborate sets, costumes and extras, but no real effort was put into executing cool action sequences or, even simpler, an enjoyable adventure with likable characters. I think I would have liked it more if it had embraced its cheesy roots.
I agree with both statements but I was probably expecting less as I kinda enjoyed it a bit
In the past week, I've spoken to both Steven Spielberg and Renny Harlin, two directors I grew up really admiring as a youngin' (and still admire today). Pretty fuckin cool.
I'm guessing Spielberg smells like what a Klondike bar probably smells like.
Starship Troopers is being remade and the Jaws ride is closing... December 2, 2011, you're an asshole.
That's sad. About Jaws I mean. I've never been to U.S. and ever since I was a kid I've ALWAYS wanted to go on that ride. Never happen now :( DEVOED!!!
