Much as I dug the new KILLER ELITE (and I gave it an 8 so I really enjoyed it for what it is), the original, Sam Peckinpah KILLER ELITE is even better. One of James Caan's few action films- he was a black belt in Karate, and did his own stunts here.
awesome movie too! but it's not the 'original' in the sense that Killer Elite is a remake as far as I know if that's what you meant. James Caan was badass in The Killer Elite though
Yeah, the two movies have nothing to do with each other. They just happen to have the same name.

FUUUUUCK- I can't wait to see DRIVE!!! I want to see it NOWWWWW! I mean, a stripped-down crime flick starring Ryan Gosling and Bryan Cranston from the director of BRONSON? With Albert Brooks as the villain? Yes FUCKING please!
That cast alone is enough to "drive" me to see it (hyuk hyuk)
Seriously though. Especially Cranston, after still plowing through Breaking Bad (I'm up to Ep. 8 in Season 2) He's amazing.

Wow. GREEN LANTERN was baaaaaad. Worst of 2011? Makes me feel bad for panning SUCKER PUNCH so harshly. At least that had.....something. This is just atrocious. I;m sure it was made with the best intentions, by truly talented people, but it all means nothing if there's no script.
Well I'm glad all the best movies this year haven't yet been available for me to see.

AngryAnyone else not really feelin`GREEN LANTERN?
Something about the CGI is just really turning me off of the film. That and the fact that Ryan Reynolds seems to be making a case to be the actor for every major superhero ever, which I can't really get behind either.
No reviews out yet. Seems suspicious- like a tight-ass embargo. Usually a bad sign.If it was good, they'd be trying to get some word of mouth going. I could be wrong though.
Please don't hate me! PIRATES just wasn't good! I cannot tell a lie!
Crap. I didn't read your review but after reading what Frey said (and agreeing with enjoying the first and not caring for 2 and 3) I probably won't like 4. Crap!
Well, at least I'm getting some sleep tonight.
I didn't ACTUALLY fall asleep- I said "almost". I'd say if you like 2 &3 you probably still won't like this. As much as I didn't care for them, visually they were stunning, and some of the action scenes were great. It was just the plots and pacing that were a mess, and I found them draggy as all hell. But part 4 is much worse, as there's not even any real eye candy or sense of fun outside the first 20 minutes- which I'll admit were great.
McShane is good as always- along with Rush. Cruz has her moments too, but I think she's a much better actress in Spanish films- not due to the language, but to the fact she gets much better roles.
